Title: Human Limits/Job 40:10-24
Contents Job 40:10-24
human limitations
'What is a human being?'
Perhaps there has never been a question with so many varied answers in the history of mankind. Livestock and many other beasts never bury themselves. From this point of view, human beings cannot but be infinitely noble beings.
However, humans are imperfect beings because of their countless imperfections. If we expand the depth and scope of this fact religiously, we can see that human beings are truly miserable beings. Then, let's take a look at what kind of limitations humans have, by limiting them to the text.
##### 1. You cannot receive divine glory by yourself
God spoke paradoxically to Job in verse 10.
Truly, man cannot give himself honor and glory by doing any righteous work. Since Job was a well-known righteous man in his day, God's words cannot but be trusted.
We know well that there were many people in history who claimed to be gods. Herod, who tried to gain the glory of God, is a typical example.
At the height of World War II, Emperor Hirohito of Japan also claimed to be a god and tried to claim the glory.
Only glory should be given to God.
##### 2. You can't have a divine eye
God said to Job in verse 11.
This is to reveal and point out all the sins hidden in people. No matter how good the judges of the courts are, they can make a mistake and send the wrong person to execution.
This is an example of how difficult it is for a person to find out the sins hidden in a person.
Often, people like to talk about other people's faults, and sometimes they like to criticize and condemn others. However, it is the limit of human perception that cannot even reveal one's own faults or sins.
As such, everyone does not have the divine eye to find out and point out the sins of others.
Of course, this does not mean that we must ascend to God's place with a divine eye. The problem is that you have to be wary of pretending to know the other person's faults and sins as if you were the only one who didn't have that kind of insight.
We should not judge or condemn others, but we should live with an attitude of forgiveness.
##### 3. Can't carry out divine execution
God said to Job in verses 12 and 13 of the text.
In fact, no matter which country, human society has its own punishment, and when a criminal is committed, a considerable sentence is imposed on him and the punishment is executed. And in some cases, the death penalty. Otherwise, it is difficult to maintain social order.
But no man can take another man for the measure of his crime and throw him into hellfire, nor can he punish him. Indeed, man has neither the authority nor the ability to do so.
That is why Jesus is speaking in Matthew 10:28.
All saints!!
Every human being has two sides of dignity and wretchedness. Truly, anyone can restore his place of honor if he humbly serves God.
From this point of view, human beings are bound to realize the limitations of being unable to glorify themselves, have divine eyesight, and perform divine executions. Indeed, pondering this fact deeply will be a narrow stepping stone to self-maturity.
I pray in the name of the Lord that you will realize your shortcomings before God and live a victorious life with the Lord's support.
