Humble and Persevering Prayer 2002/10/9 (Wednesday)
Elijah was a man like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.
An important lesson is presented to us through Elijah's experience.
When he prayed for rain on Mount Carmel, his faith was tested,
He patiently informed God of his request.
While Elijah was praying, the servant was watching the sky.
He watched six times and said nothing when he came back.
There was no cloud, and there was no sign of rain.
But the Prophet did not give up in discouragement.
He continued to look back on his life.
Soon, he looked at where he had failed to glorify God.
As he looked into his heart, he seemed increasingly insignificant before God.
It was thought that he was nothing and that God was everything.
And so the answer came when he reached the point where he gave up his self, clinging to the Saviour, the source of his only power and righteousness.
When the servant returned, he said, "A cloud rises out of the sea as small as a man's hand" (1 Kings 18:34).
We have a God who does not deaf to our supplications.
If we believe that the word of God is certain,
He will glorify our faith.
He wants all of our concerns to be one with God's.
Then, He can give us more heavenly blessings with peace of mind.
For when the blessing is ours, we do not glorify ourselves, but give all praise to God.
because it will turn.
God does not answer our prayers the first time we seek Him.
For when He does this, we will receive all the blessings and graces He has bestowed upon us.
Because you may think that you have the right to enjoy it.
Instead of examining our hearts to see if we harbor any evil, or what sin we are indulging in,
For we will not be conscious of our need to rely on Him in our carelessness.
Elijah made himself unfamiliar until he reached a state in which he would not take glory.
This is the condition that the Lord hears prayer.
Because we will give him praise.
Because only God is worthy to be glorified.
I hope that through prayer like Elijah, my appearance will change and I will have more mature faith through answers to prayer...
