Title: Humble Faith (Matthew 11:28-30)

Contents

Come to thee, all you who labor and are heavy laden. I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

"A humble person is not afraid to fall"

These words are from John Byrne Yan's Journey to the Celestials.

humility,

* Among the virtues of life,

*It is the supreme virtue of morality,

*It can also be a touchstone for judging a mature personality.

proud man,

* You are proud of yourself.

* Proud.

* Cunning and cunning.

*Also wear reverence and play like an actor.

* There is a form of godliness, but no power.

*So I live like an owl and live like a monkey.

*Everything is its own trumpet, and it is just a sounding chirp.

*Perhaps there is more iron than water in the blood vessels of such a person.

*If he only opens his mouth, he will be hated and divided, vomit and annoyed.

* Another wind that causes confusion.

* Another wind that causes confusion.

At the entrance to Songnisan, which is said to be beautiful, there is a single old cypress that has been there for 500 years. Even this old moss-covered tree will fall over in an instant if you cut it with an axe. Therefore, it is designated as a national treasure and I cherish it. Likewise, people have brothers and co-workers to cherish and protect.

But the ax of pride has no recognition. It is said, "Life is humble when you are in need, but you become proud when you are rich." Such a life should learn the slander that explodes in pride.

*The more valuable it is, the smaller it is.

*The more proverbs, the shorter the sentences.

*So the life of silence was better than the life of eloquence.

Of course, many pains do not subside in the sea of silence. Therefore, in due time it will be the salt of the world. That is why in life, everyone should be humble ten times and one hundred times. Leaders should wear clothes of humility. Andrew Murray said that humility is the supreme morality of Christianity and "humility is a central Christian truth and a principle of redemption." said

In many churches today, the lives of the saints are discordant and corrupt. The reason is that you have lost faith in humility. Today's churches that emphasize courage, zeal, and blessings as if they were the greatest goals of faith are putting themselves at risk. We must overcome religious discord, corruption, and crisis to establish a new and fresh faith.

1. What, then, is humility?

According to the Korean dictionary, “humility is to humble oneself in front of others”. In other words, humility in human society refers to the formality of lowering oneself in front of people. However, the humility of faith means an inner humility that lowers the heart before God.

1) It is to establish that you are a creature.

Revelation 4:11 says, "You created all things, and all things exist according to Your will and were created." God created man and made him a partaker of his perfection. You made me participate in the blessing. Being aware of this wonderful grace of God is humility. Proverbs 3:-34-35 Verily, he scorns the scornful and shows kindness to the humble; the wise inherit glory, but the brilliance of fools is a disgrace. said Those of us who serve Jesus Christ must boast that we are God's creations and be done with true humility.

2) Acknowledging that you are a sinner.

In Luke 18:9-14, the story of the two men praying in the temple is recorded. Among them, the publican said, "He did not stand at a distance and dare not lift up his eyes to look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, "God! Have mercy on me, for I am a sinner." Confess that and you can see it. Today, many church members keep Sundays well. Tithing is good too. If you do not commit any injustice, you will live. But look at the words of the Bible? The Pharisees are leading a more thorough life of faith than today's members. But why did Jesus rebuke them and even curse them? It was because he thought of repentance and mourning by beating his chest like a publican. The life of faith is like conquering. We humans are logs covered in the bark of sin. Just as no tree exists without its bark, there is no human without sin. Even those who are good at living a religious life are living under the skin of sin.

We must, in every moment of shame and pain, set and cut out the shell of our sin and graft it into the new life of God's life. Humility is a confession and contrition that is endlessly ashamed and stripping away the skin of sin. Jehovah God sustains the humble and saves the humble.

According to Isaiah 57:15, "This is what he who is supreme and impermanent, eternally holy, and whose name is holy says: I dwell in the high and holy place, that I may revive the spirit of the contrite and humble of heart, and revive the contrite heart." said. All human beings have no choice but to die unless they receive God's mercy and live in the pain of sin. Therefore, we must confess our sins endlessly. We must restore the great contrite humility.

3) We entrust our lives.

We often play the game of finding life with our eyes closed, listening to the clap of our hands. The same is true of our relationship with God. Humans are like blind people with two eyes. It is working without knowing when it will go bankrupt. Not knowing when they will die, they struggle and fall and sometimes fall into the wrong path. Humans cannot live without hearing something. So what's the surest sound? Hearing the voice of the one who created the universe and man. God came to this world in the flesh to give us a clear voice. You came with the word. He came as the Holy Spirit. We completely entrust our lives to this God. This is humility. All we can do is rely on absolute completeness.

The humble have wisdom. (Proverbs 11:2) God beautifies the humble with salvation. Psalm 149:4. Proverbs 22:23 says, "The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord is riches and glory and life." Proverbs 29:23 says, "Humility of heart will find honor." Humility is the foundation of perfect morality. It is the highest goal of virtue. It is the path of grace, blessing, and glory. Those who completely and absolutely trust in God will change their families and their societies. A change of humility must be made in us too.

2. What is the way to achieve humility?

How, then, can we achieve this humility of faith? It is possible to have the heart of Jesus and learn that humility.

1) Jesus' humility

Jesus often spoke of the driving force that drives him. It is said that the driving force arises from the relationship with Heavenly Father. John 6:38. “I came down from heaven, not to do my will, but to do the will of him who sent me.” John 7:16 says, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me is the kingdom. Being, source, power, will, speech, teaching, number, glory, etc. Everything came from God. He himself gave up even his own will power so that God the Father could exist. It is the humility of Jesus Christ that we allow ourselves to do within ourselves.

2) We must learn the humility of Jesus in our hearts. The way to achieve the faith of humility is to embrace the heart of Jesus and learn that humility. Philippians 2:5-9, "Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who was in the original form of God.... He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of a cross. Ira," he said.

This is: 1) the humility of Jesus Christ who came down from heaven,

2) Humility in a human body,

3) Humility who suffered like a human,

4) It is because of the humility of the cross where he died horribly.

Because he became humble, he became more exalted. Jesus said, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for my heart is gentle and humble." This is life. It is a cry of lamenting the ignorance of those who carry the heavy burden of life and to live according to my modesty. We must learn the humility of Jesus in our hearts and say, “You must enjoy rest.

3) We must imitate the humility of the disciples.

The disciples saw firsthand the humility of Jesus for three years. I heard. experienced. While listening to the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5:3-12, I saw the two sons of Zebedee in Matthew 20:27 being scolded. I have been humbled by washing my feet with Jesus, and have experienced the life of a servant in the road of humility. However, they lived a life of humility, succumbing to the pride that Satan instilled in them. They were passionate and active. However, it was a life of faith that was not humble. Outwardly, he seemed humble. They could not overcome the power of darkness. As a human being, I could never have the heart of humility.

Behind Jesus' death march toward the city of Jerusalem, they argued, "Who will sit on high?" Pride is the flesh itself and cannot be corrected by consciousness or ability. However, when they received the Holy Spirit, the disciples were changed.

The nature of original sin could not be corrected even while with Jesus, but it was realized by the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost after Jesus was resurrected. The word entered the ear and broke all the forces of evil that remained in the head and the heart.

Seeing the deaths of the disciples, Andrew was martyred on a cross in the shape of Christ. Peter was hanged upside down and executed. It is said that Philip's body was stacked on papyrus paper and buried. The reason is that you cannot be treated as a walker with Jesus. Those who wanted to exalt each other have changed in this way.

The work of water damage of Jesus, who fully fulfills the covenant, must be accomplished in our hearts too. When this wonderful work is done through the Holy Spirit in our hearts, true change takes place. A sincere and godly character is characterized by humility.

A humble person knows a tribe as a tribe.

A humble person admits facts as facts.

A humble person counts sin as a sin.

However, at any time, good is good and evil is evil.

Humble faith knows no two hearts.

Humble faith is integrity.

A humble faith is one-sided.

Therefore, hate is replaced by love, and profit is replaced by loss. The humble person becomes a grain of wheat and a candle. There is always the pain of rotting grains of wheat for the humble. There is the pain of burning candles.

Indeed, the attitude of humility is the basic attitude of faith. The more proud people are, the more they hate the pride of others, and the more sinful people are, the harsher they condemn the sins of others. However, only the sinless Jesus Christ forgives anyone's sins. The key that opens the windows closed by pride is love. Therefore, one must first have the wisdom to realize the poverty of one's existence. And, you must bear the cross of love.

People living in this era! Don't be proud of your possessions.

Only learn and practice humility. We must kneel before Christ in the most humility. Jesus never exaggerated himself.

“Take my yoke upon you, meek and humble of heart, and learn from me.”

You must learn true humility from these words.

1 Peter 5:5-6 "Girls around with humility toward one another, and God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore, humble yourself under the mighty hand of God. He will exalt you in due time."
