Title: I Am Jehovah
I am Jehovah
One day, while watching TV, I was introduced to a restaurant run by a 'greedy grandmother'. The owner's grandmother cursed at the guests who came to her house almost at the end of every word. When I asked the guests why they came to buy food and eat while being insulted, they said that they had feelings for it because it was a curse they had heard from adults in the past.
When I was young, many parents used to swear at their children. My mother also used to say harsh words when she got angry because I didn't listen. If parents did that today, verbal abuse would be condemned immediately. Maybe it was the cursing of the swearing grandmother that made me feel like I was when I was young.
“These days, it is said that the customer is the king, but why is the customer the king? In my house, the owner, I am the king!” he said. As you can see from those words, no matter how friendly you are, don't come if you don't like the taste. no longer having a relationship.
But the mother who used the same curse is different. In her childhood, her mother's harsh swear words contained her love for her children. It wasn't such abusive language that he wouldn't care if his child did something wrong. A mother does not give up on her children until the end, even if they curse when their children do something wrong. keep the relationship going. Of course, you can't say that you're good at cursing itself. However, the desire to make a child successful even while swearing, that is the heart of a mother.
I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as God Almighty, but my name was not made known to them by the LORD (3).
God called Israel “my son, my firstborn” (4:22). But Pharaoh made Israel a slave to Egypt. Then God said that he would make such Israel his people. Because it is your son and firstborn, Israel, it is an expression of your will to make them your people and protect them to the end.
So there was an inevitable war between Egypt and God. What parent would stand still to harm their son? God Himself rolled up His arms for His Son, Israel, who could not escape Egypt on his own. ‘Jehovah’ is the name of God who fights to be faithful to his covenant with his people. By doing so, God became the God of Israel, and Israel became God's people. Through such God's war with Egypt, Israel would know in detail that it was saved through its own weakness and God's own fighting (7).
God communicated His intention to the people of Israel through Moses and Aaron. But they did not listen to Moses because of Israel's impatience and the increased toil that resulted. So there was a conflict between God and Israel, whom He had made His people. It is like a conflict between parents and children.
Nevertheless, God did not forsake Israel, who was so disobedient, as if they had nothing to do with it. He said that he would take Israel, his son and firstborn, to the place he had promised in the first place. No matter how reckless Israel was, and no matter how strong Egypt was to block the escape from Egypt, God said that he would surely fulfill what he had promised for Israel, whom he had made for his son and firstborn, because God is Jehovah.
In this way, God did not immediately abandon Israel, whom He had made His son, when they did not listen. It is Jehovah God who has led you to where you want to be no matter what.
There are many things that physical parents lack, but God, who is the perfect parent, is always right. However, Israel was short-sighted and was only attached to what was right in front of them. But God's eyes were long. God's will was to bring them into the land of Canaan, which he had planned from the beginning.
Believing in God means breaking free from the power of Satan. In other words, they are leaving Egypt. But when Moses tried to get Israel out of Egypt, Israel was given even more torment. Because of the toil, Israel just wanted to sit down in Egypt. That is, it was judged by what was immediately visible in front of the eyes. What Israel wanted was immediate comfort. But the real blessing was to go to Canaan, which has not yet been seen. As for the children, it was difficult to study right now, so I would go to the arcade and sit down.
Even today, people often think of it as showing good fortune. I have to have something in my hand right now, and I have to live comfortably with it. I think that's a blessing and thanks. But for Israel, it was a blessing to leave when it was time to leave. It is a curse, not a blessing, to fall into the comfort that is right in front of you and not move. This is where there is a conflict between God and your children.
God never gave up for His children. God walked with Israel for over 40 years at the same speed as Israel walking in the wilderness at 4 km per hour. He was walking with humans for 40 years on a path that was less than one step for God. In addition, Jesus, who is God, came to this earth and spoke the words of a man with limitations. Love is such a sacrifice. When parents talk to their children, sit down and make eye contact. When you walk, you walk at the same speed. Accept and respond to nonsensical comments. Even though it is practically useless to parents.
Mature children know that their parents are with them and bow their heads. Likewise, only when we know that we are lacking in the sight of God can we have no choice but to thank God for His grace. If Almighty God worked and endured with limited human beings, that would be grace. Those who realize such grace will naturally know the heart of God and give thanks.
Love is shown in conformity to the humble God. When talking to someone, it is not love, but pride, to say such high-level words that you do not know and do not know. Love is simply speaking in an easy-to-understand way and getting along with each other. Don't try to be special in the church either. If God only saved special people, there is no one in this world who can be saved.
The saints did not attain salvation through their own efforts. Salvation was achieved by the will of God. By using the word ‘I’ several times in the text, God shows that the Exodus from Egypt was not by human will but by God’s will. In this way, the God of the universe walked slowly with humans, lowered his waist, and came to him with human words. And he carried the most miserable cross in the human world. If you are a saint who has such a God as your father, isn't it natural for you to live by actions that have realized the heart of God?
Blessing is not about having no difficulties on this earth right now or securing a high position that is different from others. He knows his father's heart. Actually, I still don't know what my mother likes and what she doesn't like. This is because he always gave priority to children and gave up eating. I am more grateful to know that kind of heart, and there is a feeling of affection for not being able to do anything. Knowing the heart of these parents would be true filial piety. Faith is also living knowing the heart of God who never gives up.
