Ⅱ.Into the Word
1. The life of those who were enemies of God because of sin
Butterflies were created by God to give hope to flowers. But the striped caterpillar didn't know about it, so it foolishly lived a hard life, trampling others in search of vain things. The people of this world were also created by God. However, the created humans sinned by not obeying God's Word and became enemies with God. Those who became enemies of God did not know the blessings and words that God had given to people, but lived in search of vain things. Many people in this world search for gods other than God in order to find their happiness, and that path eventually leads to destruction and curse.
The Bible clearly teaches that people in this world are living foolish lives like striped caterpillars. Dear children of the state! I hope that the friends, relatives, and family members who do not believe in Jesus around you are clearly aware of the fact that they are living in the path of curses and destruction.
2. God reconciles our enemies through the death of Jesus Christ.
Just as the striped caterpillar who lived chasing vain things became a beautiful butterfly without chasing vain things with the help of the yellow caterpillar, God has compassion on us who are suffering on the path of curses and destruction and allows us to depart from that path and become new beings. It is through the death of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that we, who were enemies, were reconciled to God. God forgives those who truly believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and died for us, who are sinners, and made them new. Those who know this and believe have been reconciled to God, so they live happily on this earth. Are there people who have not yet been reconciled to God because they do not believe in the death of Jesus Christ? I hope you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior in this place. I hope that those who have already been reconciled to God live joyfully according to the word of the Lord.
3. What has become new to those who have become new creatures (Ephesians 2:1---7)?
What has been renewed in us by the death of Jesus Christ? I was set free from all the curses that came from trespasses and sins. And I didn't want to go to hell where I was tormented and punished forever.
Also, I became a person who did not pursue vain things. Many people in this world are not in God, so they are following the world's customs according to the work of the evil spirit. I look at the moon and pray for good things, I go to the fortune teller and ask how I can live well in the future, and I live by relying on vain things every day. However, as new creations, we did not pursue such things and came to live on this earth under the grace and protection of God. That is why when we pray when we have worries and concerns, God answers us and takes care of and guides us like the pupil of the eye wherever we are.
People in this world are afraid of death. I am afraid because I do not know what will happen after death, and I am afraid because I know that my soul will be punished by God. But as new creatures, we have become not afraid of death. We are not afraid of death because we know that after we die we will go to the kingdom of God, and we will enjoy the blessings of God and live forever in heaven.
4 (Applied). What kind of life should a new creation live?
Therefore, as new creations, we must become those who give thanks to God in abundance. Because gratitude is a way of glorifying God and admitting and acknowledging that it is actually happening to you, whenever you pray, say, “Thank you for making me a beloved child of God. Thank you for allowing us to be forgiven of our transgressions and sins through the merits of the blood shed on the cross. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy heaven and live in God’s grace and protection.” have to express
Also, just as the striped caterpillar that became a beautiful butterfly became a being that gives hope to flowers along with the yellow caterpillar, we, who have become new creatures, must also give hope to this world. What hope should we give? It is to help those who have not yet been reconciled to God in this world and are enemies to become reconciled to God. Just as the yellow caterpillar first became a beautiful butterfly and then helped the striped caterpillar, we too have to become helpers of people in this world because we became new creations through the grace of Jesus Christ. How can I help? It is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through evangelism that seems foolish to the world, God is adding more and more those who are being saved every day. Therefore, when we see unbelieving friends at school or in the neighborhood, we must seek the help of the Holy Spirit and become evangelists of Jesus.
In addition, as new creatures, we need to look back on ourselves and repent before God every day. Although we have become a new creation, we have to grow and change every day as a being who repents every day and imitates God's holiness because there are evil thoughts and actions that come out of us. That is why we have to live more joyfully while enjoying our reconciliation with God. Until we go to heaven, we cannot rest for repenting.
Ⅲ. Conclusion
Those who believe in Jesus are those who possess the greatest treasure, the greatest treasure, and become new creatures. I hope you live with this fact. Also, the mission of reconciliation was given to us as new creations. I hope that all of us will be able to live up to this mission well.
