Title: I Believe in God's Guidance

Contents

Text: Proverbs 3:5-6

Title: I believe in God's guidance.

(Introduction)

The key to today's message is

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

I am telling you not to rely on human understanding.

'With all your heart... commissioned.'

This verse is 'the fundamental principle of faith in Christianity.

Here, 'to trust' means 'to trust' or 'to place hopes and expectations'.

It means entrusting all of your personal things to the grace of God.

In other words, to live life relying on one's own strength or wisdom

It means giving up all attempts.

'Accept it.'

It means 'acknowledge that God is the ruler of all wills and actions and all things in the world'.

acknowledging God is

Before we do anything, we first ask God's will

It is an attitude to seek God's guidance and advice.

Believers acknowledge God

We must do our best to realize God's will on this earth.

But rather than acknowledging God, we

Too often we have great difficulties in doing everything.

We believers should live a life that acknowledges God in all things.

(Example)

One day when Alexander the Great conquered Europe and was proud of himself

Having fun watching the jokes of a monkey raised at home, he bit his finger

He contracted malaria and died in less than 24 hours.

During the War of Waterloo, Napoleon also deployed cannons in various places.

Victory was guaranteed, but it rained the night before the operation started.

The cannon fell into a mud pit and was defeated.

Likewise, God changes the direction of history even as a monkey or a shower.

In spite of our grand plans and promises, if there is no providence and grace of God,

Our lives will end miserably.

(Main subject)

Humans do not know what will happen in the future, so God's guidance is necessary.

And he will direct your way' (v. 6).

This means that if you fulfill the conditions stated in verses 5 and 6 above, you will be guaranteed God's guidance.

How do I receive God's guidance?

1) We must trust in God.

'Trust in the Lord with all your heart' (v. 5).

To receive God's guidance, you must trust in God with all your heart.

'With all your heart' means to fully believe in the wisdom, power, and goodness of God.

It means surrendering your destiny to God.

To believe is to believe in Almighty God, who always gives me the best,

To entrust means to total obedience and trust.

Entrusting me to Almighty God rather than my feeble knowledge and limited ability

Because it is a safe and wise way.

2) You must know the limits of your own abilities.

'Do not trust in your own understanding' (v. 5).

'Intelligence' is the ability to discern good and evil.

Humans have limited ability to discern good and evil.

Trusting it comes with its own risks.

Therefore, human understanding must always be based on the Word of God,

Even our values, outlook on life, thoughts, emotions, and desires must be guided by God's Word.

Because we have gone through a lot of trial and error throughout our lives.

Always we must plan according to the Word of God.

It is foolishness to rely entirely on one's own abilities.

3) We must acknowledge God in everything.

'Acknowledge him in everything' (v. 6).

God's plan accomplishes His will through past, present, and future;

Human beings can understand the providence to some extent only through the past,

Nothing is known about what is happening through the present and the future.

Therefore, man must be led by God only through faith and obedience.
