I have called you
Psalm 141: 1-10
Today's Psalm 141 is prayer. It is a psalm of prayer in which David is in danger and asks for protection before the Lord. How should we pray when we are in urgent danger and when we are threatened by someone unfairly?
1. Prayer must go up like incense.
Verse 1, “I have called you, O LORD; come quickly to me.” If we interpret this verse more closely to the original language, it has this meaning. Lord I need Your help. help me soon Our prayer is to confess the need for the Lord's intervention.
Verse 2, “My prayers become like incense before you.” what do you mean? My prayers become like incense. In other words, like the scent of incense, the smoke must constantly rise toward the sky.
2. I must put a watchman on my mouth.
Verse 3, “Set a watchman before my mouth, O LORD, and keep the door of my lips.” While praying to the Lord, at the same time praying to the Lord that words of slander or aggression will not come out of those who rationalize themselves or make them difficult. did it. This is a really important principle of prayer. If you pray according to your prayers and swear according to your insults, it will not become a fragrance. Therefore, by setting a watchman on our lips, prayer becomes a deeper fragrance and ascends to the Lord.
3. Keep your gaze fixed.
Our prayers during hardships and adversity must make sure our eyes are fixed on the Lord.
Verse 8, “O Lord GOD, my eyes are on you” My eyes must be on you. So you just have to look at the Lord.
Psalm 121:1 I lift my eyes to the mountains, where will my help come from?
Psalm 121:2 My help is from the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth.
When we fix our eyes on the Lord who will solve our problems, the source of our help who made heaven and earth, we can receive answers to prayers in the midst of adversity.
