Title: I Can Overcome (Philippians 4:10-13)
Contents
As I've said before, the words 'do' and 'can't' are literally different characters, but this is the difference between heaven and earth.
The opposite of 'I can't' is 'I can't', and the opposite of 'I can't' is 'I can'.
In other words, the person cannot do anything without overcoming the obstacle that he cannot do.
"Kyu-tae Lee", who was an editorial member of the Chosun Ilbo, in his book 'The Structure of Consciousness of Koreans', refers to the structure of Koreans' consciousness as "the consciousness of fate."
And this is that Heungbu, the protagonist of Heungbujeon, had at least 25 sons, but he was so poor that he had no clothes to wear.
So, naturally, when one of them went to the toilet (toilet), the twenty-four naturally had to follow along. And he said, 'You are all born sellers' to overcome this tragic poverty.
Says.
In other words, Korean people do not try to challenge or change the so-called 'this innate trait',
Admitting it, swallowing tears, and enduring it, he is very tolerant of 'fate'.
But in American culture, Americans, with weapons and tools in their hands, pioneered the wasteland of the West, carved valleys to build houses and paved roads, then to dig gold and sow seeds. They fought wild beasts and fought the Indians. Therefore, if Western culture is called 'open culture', we
Culture was referred to as 'hermitage culture' (that is, we did not live by creating living conditions like our ancestors in the United States, but looking for pre-made living conditions as much as possible.
It is said that he lived in a village on the side of the land. Actually, isn't it?
That is why we are weak in fate and weak in affection, so we are living with a structure of consciousness that we cannot do it rather than do it.
But in today's text, the apostle Paul confesses, "I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
Not that I can do everything. I confess that I can do all things because I am in the Lord and in Jesus who gives me strength.
There is nothing I can do in my own strength, but I can do everything because Jesus gives me strength.
that you can do it.
I pray that you will have this confession of faith as well.
So what can you do?
That is, first we can rejoice. (Read verse 10)
If I am in the Lord, I can rejoice greatly.
So how do we get this joy?
It's in the Roman dungeon. Nevertheless, he confesses that he can rejoice greatly.
How is this possible?
It is because his body is in prison but his soul is in Jesus Christ.
Nehemiah said, "The joy of the Lord is my strength."
In other words, please believe that our greatest strength comes from delighting in the Lord.
'God! Why are you using my dad in this era?” When a young daughter asked because it seemed that God was using her father, God answered, 'If I'm listening to your dad's sermon, I'm having fun too'.
Then I realized that 'our joy is God's joy'.
In other words, when I am happy, God is happy, and when I am sad, God is suffering.
Everyone! I hope you will believe this.
If I am happy, God is happy...
When I suffer, God suffers...
That is why our Lord also confessed, "He was pleased with the Holy Spirit." Hallelujah!
That is why 1 Thessalonians 5:16 "Rejoice always" I bless you all.
A person called "Berry Harai", who is called the king of insurance in Japan, got a job at an insurance company after graduating from university. He'll bet the salesman of insurance...
But if my insurance doesn't always go well, I always get scolded by my boss, and when I come home from work, my wife says, 'You did a great job. It doesn't look good today."
When I went into the room without saying a word, my wife approached me cautiously and said, 'If I see your face now, if other people see your face, they'll all run away.'
So when I went to the bathroom and looked at my own face, it was really true.
'A face with no motivation, a broken face, a frown'
As my wife said, if I see your face, I'll run away. He thought he was right, and from then on he decided to change his mind. I decided to change my face. And now he is the king of insurance.
Yes. 'Laughter is the cheapest medicine, but medicine is the best.'
We who believe in Jesus Christ...there is nothing that can't be done. There's nothing you can't do.
So you can be happy. I wish you such joy.
And we can be self-sufficient (let's read verse 11).
Self-sufficiency means self-sufficiency.
Everyone! Would it be possible to say that owning a lot means living a self-sufficient life?
Alexander the Great of Macedonia, who conquered the Persian Empire in 330 B.C., conquered the Indus River in India, and continued to build a great empire spanning two continents in Europe and Asia, wept when he murmured in his barracks after winning the war.
“You mean there is no more place to conquer?”
What is on the ground is finite (limited).
Therefore, worldly things cannot fill people with infinite minds.
How much more do you need to collect to be satisfied? Then 'Rockfello' said 'a little more, a little more'...
This is it. Our hearts cannot be filled with the world.
The only thing that can satisfy people's satisfaction is to have the eternal Jesus Christ in your heart.
Therefore, the word self-sufficiency does not mean that we are content because we have many things, but we do not
It is something you can be content with because you can enjoy it and live.
Isn't "David" the pronoun of this contented heart?
He came from a shepherd and became king, and in Psalm 23, he says, "The Lord is my shepherd, I will not want." That is, God is his shepherd, so 'l want notsing', that is, there is nothing he wants at all. Hallelujah-
Now, even in prison, the apostle Paul is satisfied with the present situation.
He has no job, no house to live in, no family, no relatives, and his livelihood is so poor that his prison life is still stable and comfortable, so it is not that he is satisfied with his life in prison.
He had professional skills. It was a tent-making job. If he was well-educated, he was a thorough Pharisee. From birth there, he also had Roman citizenship.
If he changed his mind, he could go on to a career and save money.
He was a person who could live a worldly rich life, a rich life.
But he had no desire to be content in this world.
Therefore, in verse 12, he says, “I know how to be in need, and I know how to have abundance.
In other words, "I learned the secret" means that I have been taught the secret.
He can be content because he has been taught the secret of satisfaction from Jesus Christ.
“As unknown, yet famous; as dead, and behold, we live and are disciplined.
As such, yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything."
I pray that you will be satisfied (satisfied) in everything by passing on the secret from Jesus Christ.
Finally, I can do everything (let's read verse 13).
That is, I can win.
Pastor Robert Sulo says there are 4 types of people in this world.
1. People who say no: These people have never done anything, never started, or denied anything.
These are the people who give up thinking about it as enemies.
2. They are lukewarm: These people are capricious and emotionally ups and downs.
These are people who are overly influenced by their emotions and are neither this nor that.
So they are people who can't entrust anything.
3. These are the loud people: These are the people who hesitate when they start working
is. Unbelievable people. These are people who are just bragging.
4. But there are those who move forward: these are the people who think, talk and act.
These are people who believe and practice that they can and can do it. (It is you) Amen-
David knew this too. Therefore, he believed in God while fighting Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. So he practices. Go to Goliath and say.
“You come with a sword and a javelin, but I go in the name of the LORD of hosts.
I have given you into your hand” (1 Samuel 17:45-46).
Then he threw a slingshot on his head, knocking him down and beheading Goliath.
This is the secret to victory. I wish you the best of luck with this victory.
A pastor went to China. I went on a missionary trip here and there, but I never went with my wife, but this time I went on a trip together.
It is said that they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, a 'silver wedding' during their dual visit to China.
So, we dine with our friends in China and chat. Today is not a normal day, so let's drink tea, so we move to a nice Japanese room run by one of our relatives and drink tea. But there was a famous painter among the friends we had tea with.
That person is a painter named "Jiaoi".
Although not well known in Korea, he is a famous painter all over the world.
Of course, he is the pastor's friend.
I drew trees and forests, and so all six people drew them. Now, the master of art, 'Jiaoi', draws the last painting, and it is said that he painted two horses.
Then it looked plausible.
And after playing with the brush a few times, the painting became a beautiful masterpiece. So everyone in the room was surprised.
It became a masterpiece after 'Jiaoi' touched the picture that was drawn randomly.
'Jiaoi' wrote the title under the picture. 'Life is a rough road. But it was a road the two of them shared, so I wasn't lonely. Celebrating the 25th wedding anniversary...' is bitter.
Everyone! What does this mean?
Even if your life has had many mistakes, many despairs, and many things that should not have happened, you are not alone because the Lord was with you.
Also, even if your life has had many mistakes, many despairs, and many bad things,
I believe that if God puts a few brushes in your life, our lives will end as wonderfully as in this painting.
That is why he was able to rejoice in prison and enjoy self-sufficiency.
So he was able to win in life.
We can do it too. I can too.
You can be happy, you can be content. (You can enjoy the abundance of your heart)
So you can win in life.
Congratulations to all of you.
