Title: I desire mercy / Hosea 6:4-11

Content No. 6:4-11

Title: I Want Love

Hos 6:4 What shall I do to you, O Ephraim? What shall I do to you, O Judah? Your kindness is like a morning cloud or the dew that fades away.

Hos 6:5 Therefore I smote them with the prophets, and slain them with the word of my mouth, and my judgment is like a radiant light

Hos 6:6 I desire mercy, not sacrifice; I desire the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Hos 6:7 They broke the covenant like Adam, and there they rebelled against me.

Hos 6:8 Gilead is the city of evildoers, and the footsteps of blood are abundant.

Hos 6:9 As a robber waits for a man, so a company of priests murders on the way to Shechem; they have done wickedness.

Hos 6:10 I saw an abomination in the house of Israel, where Ephraim committed whoredom, and Israel was defiled.

Hos 6:11 O Judah, when I bring my people back from captivity, I have ordained a harvest for you as well.

entry

What would God do if God's people turned away from God in their hearts and turned away from God's Word and followed the vanities of the world rather than believing God's Word and living by faith?

God leaves the people and says that He will wait until the people will suffer, repent of their sins, and seek the face of God.

The period when God is away from us is a period of pain, tribulation, and trial.

When the prophet saw the people in tribulation, God left us. Come on./ We cry out to the people to repent and return to the waiting God.

Hos 6:1 Come, let us return to the LORD, for the LORD has torn us, and he will heal us; he has struck us, and he will bind us up.

Hos 6:2 After two days the LORD will raise us up, and on the third day he will raise us up, and we will live before him.

Hos 6:3 Therefore let us know the Lord, let us strive to know the Lord; His coming is as steady as the morning light; He will come upon us like rain, and like the latter rain that waters the earth.

Today's text is God's answer to the prophet Hosea's earnest appeal to the people.

Hosea 6:4 What shall I do to you, Ephraim? What shall I do to you, Judah?

What can you feel from these words?

Does this mean that you will do everything according to the demands of the people of Israel?

I didn't mean to mean waiting for you to grant their request, whatever you ask, whatever you ask.

“What shall I do to you?” is a word of reproof, and He is holding up a rod for judgment.

This is what you are saying.

I have shown you infinite mercy and mercy, but how have you been doing so far? Have you left me and followed idols, and prefer not to listen to vain words than to listen to me? Rather than fearing me, did you not despise me and worship idols?

What shall I do to you ?

Today, without worshiping God, without loving God, without obedience to God's word, we only follow the world, live according to our self-will, and one day when we stand before God, what will God say?

What shall I do to you ?

God rebukes you. He points out their sins.

“. . . Your kindness is like a morning cloud or like dew that fades away. ”

What is the kindness God is talking about?

1) Those who are under the covenant of God

How easily do morning clouds or dew (fog) disappear? Even a slight wind blows away the clouds. How easily does the fog disappear? What disappears without a trace is a cloud and a fog next to it.

What should I do to you who depart from the covenant even when a small wind blows? As you so easily give up your devotion, you forsake me and stray from the covenant. What should I do?

2) A good heart to love others with the same love for God

1 John 4:20 “If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar, and he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.”

do you guys love me I love you.

I am praying like this. Let us love each and every one of our saints with the heart of Jesus and the love of Jesus.

The people who have made a covenant with God should naturally love God and love your neighbors with the love that you love for God.

3) It also means loyalty to God.

Loyalty is fulfilling one's duty or duty, and doing the best for the given mission.

As a child of God, fulfilling your child's duty to the father is loyalty.

As a disciple, sometimes as a servant, as a saint, doing your best in the task entrusted to you is loyalty.

If you do not love God and love God, you cannot be faithful without loving your neighbor. Love is the power and driving force that makes you loyal in everything.

Where does the strength come from to be faithful with the material earned by sweating, and to be faithful with the material presented to God even when the household is daunting? person.

Kindness means to love God, and to love God means loyalty to God, and it also means love that shows truth, trust, kindness, and gentleness toward one's neighbor.

Your kindness, which should not change and should not be moved, is like a morning cloud or the fading dew.

This love is that there are things that must not change even if the sky is falling.

Your kindness is like a morning cloud or like dew that fades away. What shall I do to you ?

What does God say he will do?

Hos 6:5 Therefore I smote them with the prophets, and slain them with the word of my mouth, and my judgment is like a radiant light

1. He says that he will strike us through the prophet.

beat - cut In other words, it means to hit a tree with an ax and cut it down.

Matthew 3:10 “The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

It is the power of God's word revealed through the prophet, especially through the word that is proclaimed.

The words of the prophet Chan sent by God are the words of God. At that time, the prophet was God's representative.

2. With the words of the prophet's mouth, He says that He will kill them.

In Isaiah 11, He prophesied what the Messiah would do when He came into this world.

Isaiah 11:4 With justice he will judge the needy, with uprightness he will judge the humble of the world; he will strike the world with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.

Isaiah himself says that God made his mouth like a sharp sword, like a flashing arrow. 」

49:2 He made my mouth like a sharp sword, and hid me in the shadow of his hand; he made me polished flesh and hid it from his traditions.

Jeremiah 5:14 Therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts: Behold, when they have spoken these words, I will make my words in your mouth a fire, and this people wood, and the fire will consume them.

3. I want mercy.

Hos 6:6 I desire mercy, not sacrifice; I desire the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

To practice kindness is to know me.

want - have fun

To know me more than sacrifices and burnt offerings.

closing words

If the people do not know God and have no mercy, what will be the result?

Hos 6:7 Like Adam, they broke the covenant, and there they rebelled against me.

Hosea 6:8 Gilead is the city of evildoers ② The footsteps of blood are all over the place.

Hos 6:9 As a gang of robbers waits for a man, ③the multitude of priests murdered on the way to Shechem, and they did evil.

Hos 6:10 I saw an abomination in the house of Israel, where Ephraim committed fornication, and Israel was defiled.

Hos 6:11 O Judah, when I bring my people back from captivity, I have ordained a harvest for you as well.

They say that their God, who has no mercy, has set a day for judgment.

Hana wants love. Because God rejoices in the saints who have mercy, he will bless and rejoice.
