Title: I Have Realized (Psalm 73:16-28)
1. It was only when I entered the sanctuary of God that I understood their end (verse 17).
As Isaiah 55:8 says, As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. Even if we always live with God, we cannot comprehend the deep will of God. If you tie up your dog at home, they will scold you for not liking it. But the dog does not realize why the owner has tied him up. It is as if God sometimes gives us sickness, pain, and refinement, but we do not understand the subtle meaning of it.
Then Asaph confesses that he came to the temple while praying.
2. Realized that those who betray God will perish (v. 18)
You put us in a slippery place. If you are in a slippery place, you are bound to fall one day. As Psalm 1:6 says, for the way of the righteous is approved by the LORD, but the way of the wicked will be destroyed. Who would have imagined that their corruption would come to an end when they sat on the throne of the Fifth Republic and exercised great power.
3. He realized that I was like an ignorant beast (verse 22).
No matter how clever and intelligent a person may be, there are many times when he is not as good as an animal.
Migratory birds do not know how to read calendars and do not have a compass, but they fly tens of thousands of miles to find the places where winter and summer come to live. And these animals don't commit suicide no matter how much they hate to live. But look at the behavior of these fugitives. How long have you been foolish and stupid? It is a once-for-all life, but even at a precious age in their 20s, they commit suicide and some have been caught. How much pain it must have caused parents. Even though we are like beasts, I am always with you; you hold my right hand. Like hymn 462, it is a dark sea with great waves, but the Lord Jesus is my sailor. Yes, there is no fear.
4. Realized that there is no one in heaven and on earth to long for but thee (verse 25)
A person who has depended on a person loses their will when that person dies. For those who depended on authority, when authority disappears, all authority becomes bluff. You should know that there is no one you can rely on except the Lord.
5. The body and mind are withered, but God is the rock of the heart and an everlasting portion (verse 26).
The flesh gets old and rusts. One day you will grow weak and die. But God is the Rock of my heart.6. I realized that drawing near to God was a blessing to me (verse 28).
There are many blessings in the world, but you should know that being close to God is your only blessing. God creates blessings and can give them to anyone at will.
I have realized We believe that the wicked will perish through Asaph's torment at this time, that I am foolish like an animal, that I have no one to desire but the Lord, that although flesh and heart are weak, God is eternal I hope you will remember to grow up and live vigorously in a harsh world.
