Title: I Need to See a Doctor
Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard this, he said to them, "Those who are healthy do not need a doctor, but the sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners." - Amen.
After Jesus had taught a great crowd by the sea, he was on his way, and in verse 14 of this chapter, he called Levi, the tax collector who works at the customs, that is, Matthew, and he immediately followed the Lord, and he had a feast for the Lord.
At that time, if he was a publican by profession, he accumulated wealth unjustly, comparable to that of a prostitute, and was particularly hated by the scribes, who were Pharisees in the Jewish society. and eat with sinners.' This is the text of the words Jesus answered at that time.
A few days ago I was sitting in a subway chair waiting for the train, and an old man was talking to the old woman sitting next to me, and it was no use even if I was stabbed by a certain oriental medicine doctor. As a matter of fact, I heard the saying, <You should see a doctor well> no matter how much money it costs. Today's sermon is what the old man said. Even if you see a doctor, you need to see a good doctor. If you want to see a good doctor
1. I must know for sure that I have a disease (of sin)
If you carry a disease on your body, your body will feel different functionally, but these days, with the development of medical technology, if you go to the hospital, take pictures, and examine yourself, you can know in detail about diseases that we were not aware of and did not even know ourselves.
Living a healthy life is a great blessing.
The Four Books and Three Sutras: Five blessings: 1. Number (壽: long life), 2. Wealth (富), 3 Rivers (康寧: Health).
4. Yu Ho-deok (攸好德: good deeds), 5. Go Jong-myeong (考終命: end his life comfortably)
Five fortunes desired by generations of generations: 1. 建康 (health), 2. 配偶者 (spouse), 3. strength (wealth)
4. 事 (job), 5. 朋 (bung: there must be many friends around)
As you can see, among the five blessings, there is always the blessing of health. That's right. To lose money is to lose a little, to lose honor is to lose a lot, and to lose health is to lose everything. There is a saying.
These days, people try to live a healthy life, starting with walking, climbing, and fitness. However, what we, as God's people, should be most concerned about is spiritual health before physical health. The world does not know this and invests a lot only in physical health.
In the text, Mark 2:17 '... The healthy do not need a doctor, but the sick...' You need to know that you are a sinner in order to ask for atonement. He will die of the disease and receive eternal punishment. If they become like the Pharisees who thought they were innocent, they would not be able to receive the grace of atonement given by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. A doctor can start healing when the patient trusts the doctor's results and admits that he is ill, right? The goal of the church's evangelism and church education is to make unbelievers realize that they have a sinful disease by diagnosing them with the Word even if they say they have no sin.
2. Be sure to see your doctor
Even if you have the same disease, you can get an accurate diagnosis and treatment if you meet a competent doctor with considerable scientific knowledge and experience. I have made countless efforts to solve the sins and pains of life. And although many religious leaders have appeared, they have not been able to eradicate the fundamental sin of life.
There were many teachers in the world, but only Jesus Christ declared that he came to call sinners and offered himself as a sacrifice. In the text, Mark 2:17 says, “...I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Matthew 8:17 "... that it might be fulfilled that He Himself bore our infirmities and bore our sicknesses."
Galatians 1:4 “Christ gave himself to atone for our sins in order to save us.”
There are diseases in the world that cannot be cured by human science. However, we have Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who heals both the sickness of sin and the sickness of the body. Jesus said that He came as a doctor. He said that if he surrendered himself to the Lord Jesus, repented, and knew he was a sinner, he would heal him.
Does it cost money to donate by believing in Jesus? I still remember the old man's words on the subway a few days ago, that you should see a doctor no matter how much money it costs. What would a person do if he had a sickness and a deathly disease and had money and honor? Even if you can buy a soul with money, you have to invest in it, but God did not tell you to buy salvation with money.
The Lord calls us friends in John 15:14. If your best friend is the best doctor in the world, why not rely on that friend? How about me and you? Do you rely on Jesus as your friend? Or are you looking for a quack doctor you don't know and don't trust in the world?
Recently, I bought a book published by a friend of mine who grew up in the same hometown with me. I know him well, so the taste of reading the book is unique and it is like having a close conversation. I feel it. Why? 'Cause it's my friend We must confess all our weak sins, mistakes, and difficulties to Jesus, who heals us, and lay our burdens on us. I pray that you and I will always be close to Jesus, the doctor who will heal me, today and tomorrow, and receive frequent and frequent medical treatment and healing.
