Title: I Only Look at You
Content In this text, we take several serious lessons that King Jehoshaphat needs to learn from the attitudes and attitudes of believers who dealt with the crisis he faced, both nationally and personally.
First, he turned to Jehovah.
As soon as he faced a crisis, he did not first seek a political breakthrough. As soon as he faced this crisis, he did not save by his means and methods strategically military. He has to do all of this. But before that, the Bible says that he first sought the face of the Lord and the face of God. Do you seek the face of God only in times of crisis? Here, of course, Jehoshaphat faced a crisis and sought the face of God. However, he was able to save the face of God in the face of a crisis because he was always seeking the face of God. A person who cannot usually seek the face of God cannot suddenly save the face of God in the face of a crisis. How does the Bible describe Jehoshaphat's humanity here? What kind of person is he? The Bible records that “he was a man who sought God with all his heart.” He sought God with all his heart.
Second, we are praying together with the people.
Here Jehoshaphat came together with the Lord's people to seek a solution from this difficult problem and crisis. Children and women and everyone gathered together and began to pray before the Lord. The Lord has testified. do you think The Lord said in Matthew 18:19, “Again, truly, I say to you, if some or two of you agree on earth to ask for anything, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” The Lord has promised to be with them where the saints are truly gathered together for true fellowship. Why? Why is it that the Holy Spirit of God is present and the Holy Spirit of the Lord is at work where the saints pray, revealing their weakness, their pain, and sharing their weaknesses in their lives? One saint replied: “Heavenly Father sees his children most imaginatively concerned with each other and with brothers and sisters raising their problems,” he said. That is the father's heart.
Third, he knew God rightly and prayed to God.
Today, we live in a generation that emphasizes faith regardless of the object of faith. But Jehoshaphat was not emphasizing to believe anything. He knew what he believed in. He truly knew the living God. Knowing the God who created the universe and who holds and operates all things with the word, we begin to pray before that God. What kind of God are you? Almighty God! True God! In other words, it is God who helps us now as promised. He is a God who can help me, and a God who helps me.
The God who worked in the past is still working today. He knew God right away and prayed to God.
Fourth, he confesses to relying solely on the Lord.
“Our God! Do you not punish us? We have no power against this great crowd that is coming against us. God, we do not know what to do.” This was Jehoshaphat's honest expression of heart. I didn't shout "I can do anything". Rather, the Israelites said, "We can do nothing, we have no power, I can't help it." Even believers are sometimes thrown into this situation. I can't do anything. What should I do? All sides are walls, and there are moments in life where you experience the frustration and anxiety of being hit by an indescribable wall on all sides. This was the experience of the Israelites at this very moment. They did not try to avoid their appearance. They openly expose themselves.
They did not utilize an active mindset. Rather, they exposed their powerlessness. But their helpless moments were strong moments. This is the paradox of faith.
[Conclusion] If you choose the Lord, the Lord chooses you. And the Lord will come into your life in crisis. And you will start claiming your life. In the midst of all the frustrating situations and crises surrounding me, and the countless crises surrounding us today, would you like to present the secret of Jehoshaphat's amazing life that overcame this crisis? He knew God right away and prayed to God. There is salvation when we look to the Lord. When you look to the Lord, you have power. Looking to the Lord gives you new strength. When I look to the Lord, God's holy power over me comes upon me. “I only look to you”
