Title: I Will Add Miracles
Exodus 11:1-12:14
add a miracle
I. I will add a miracle.
1. I will drive you away
It is often said that the ancient war was not a war of kings, not a war between nations, but a war between the gods of two countries. But Israel and Egypt are not at war with both armies mobilized. The situation in Exodus now is a completely different situation. First, the gods of both countries believe that their gods are strong, but Israel is not. Even Israel does not know God. Second, the god of Egypt loses, but Egypt does not surrender or give up its kingdom. If the God of Israel has conquered Egypt, then of course he must occupy Egypt. However, the ultimate result of victory is not to take over Egypt, a splendid civilized country, but rather to go out into the wilderness. The defeated people of Egypt are not driven out, but the victorious Israelites are driven out. The purpose of the ten miracles is that it is by no means a fight for territory or a fight for emancipation.
2. God's Purpose
As for the words of 11:5, these words were already mentioned in 4:23. Chapter 4 is yet to start with 10 transfers. So, the 10 miracles do not do one, do the second because they can't, and the third because they can't. There were 10 things planned from the beginning. It is not that God made a comeback victory in the final game after trial and error over and over again. God's purpose is not to defeat the gods of Egypt. After all, the gods of Egypt are not real things, but things that the people regard as gods. What needs to be broken is not the gods of Egypt, but the hearts of the people of Egypt who worship them as gods, that is, the hearts of sinners, and the sinful religiosity of humans. In order to change the sinner's heart and sinner's thinking, God is adding miracles to miracles and miracles to miracles. Every time we see these miracles, we discover the heart of God's love for humanity.
