Title/ I Will Build My Church
Text/ Matthew 16:18-19
“And I tell you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
In order to go to heaven, the final destination of the saints, you must learn about heaven through church life.
1, Church of Jesus
“On the rock I will build my church”
The word church (ecclesia) is “a community of those who have been called by the world to be children of God”.
The church is neither the founder, nor the operator, nor the organizer, but the Lord, and no man can be the master of the church.
(Colossians 1:13-18) “He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning” (search and read)
If the church is the body of the Lord, then the head of the church is the Lord, so you must follow the instructions of the head. The church was purchased with the blood of Jesus.
(Acts 20:28) “Beware of yourselves and of all the flock, for the Holy Spirit has made you overseers among them, to shepherd the church, which God bought with his own blood” (Acts 20:28).
2, the church that overcomes the powers of hell
“The powers of Hades will not prevail”
We must know that the church is the place where we can overcome the power of hell, the power of the devil, and the power of death.
(Psalm 89:48) “Who will live and not see death, and deliver his soul from the power of Hades?”
The church, built with the blood of Jesus, who overcame the power of death, is the only place that overcomes Hades. (1 Corinthians 15:12) “It is preached that Christ rose from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection from the dead? ”
3, the church that looses the bonds of the earth
We live our lives as if we are good at faith, but there are too many things that are tied to the earth.
Work, business, material, children, school connections, delays, etc. There are many things that are tied to worship, so we neglect worship.
Rich young man obsessed with material things
(Matthew 19:16-22) “When the young man heard these words, because he had great wealth, he went away grieved.”
(Matthew 19:23) “Truly I say to you, it is difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.”
