All people are living in the field of fierce battle for survival. Especially in capitalist society, the powerful survive and the weak are caught and eaten. So, the rich accumulate more wealth through their wealth, but the poor can't even keep what they have, so they go bankrupt and give up their lives. Modern people living in a society where there is a fierce competition for survival, both you and me, live in pursuit of victory. He spares no effort and passion to win. And when you win, you enjoy the thrill of victory. But the excitement never lasts long. Because human victory is not eternal victory.

Since the victory of a finite man is a finite victory and only a temporary victory, victory today can no longer mean that tomorrow's defeat has begun. That is why man does not enjoy peace even when he gains victory. Even with great victories, there is no peace. The reality of human beings is that when you get a big victory, you get more anxious than you get. Not only do they not want to lose that victory, but also because of the anxiety of not knowing when they will be taken away.

But here is the real victory. There is never a prelude to defeat, but eternal victory. Here's the secret to all of us being real victors forever. Through this text, the Lord says: 33a "I am telling you this, that you may find peace in me..." On the night Jesus Christ was arrested, he had the so-called Last Supper with his beloved disciples. After the meal, the Lord knelt down and washed the disciples' feet, then sat down again and gave the last sermon of his life to the disciples. The contents are recorded in detail from the 13th chapter of the Gospel of John to the 16th chapter, the text we see today. However, at the last moment just before his arrest, the Lord revealed the clear reason for giving the last words of his life to his disciples, so that they could enjoy peace.

The reason the Lord gave such a long sermon at the last minute was not to remind you of the secret to getting rich. It was not meant to teach you the secret to living a healthy life or the path to power. There was only one reason, so that man might enjoy peace in Christ.

The reason the Lord can give us absolute peace is because He alone is the eternal victor who has truly overcome the world. What did the Lord overcome? He overcame the power of sin and the power of death that suppressed mankind. The Lord bore the burden of all human sins, took the punishment of the cross, died, and rose again on the third day, becoming the victor of eternal life. .

Because He has been resurrected forever and is with us now, the Lord's victory is a perfect victory, a true victory, and an eternal victory. Even if we have tribulation in the world, we can enjoy absolute peace in Christ because the Lord's eternal victory is our victory as long as we are in Christ. So says the Lord. “Be bold. I have conquered the world.” As a victor, pursue a life free from sin and a life oriented toward eternal life. Peace is not far away. Jesus Christ, who overcame the world, is in Him who was with God.
