Title: Idleness is not idle
Laziness is not idle
Text/ Romans 12:11
1. Introduction
When we look at the nature of heaven and earth that God created, “When I see in my heart all the worlds created by the Lord God... *The Creator who made that high blue sky and the countless shining stars...*It is so beautiful, the world of the Lord... I have no choice but to say Amen from the bottom of my heart to the lyrics of hymns 40-75-78. But what is more beautiful, more mysterious, and more mysterious than that is each and every one of us. Because Heaven, Earth, and Nature do not have their own freedom-autonomy-self-help-awareness-self-awareness and live under the control of the environment from beginning to end, but we humans are beings who live under the control of the environment, transcend and overcome the environment, and rather dominate the environment. Because it is a living being.
Last August 8th is Ipchu, and August 14th is Malbok, so the heat will slow down a bit, but it is still very hot. When the weather is hot like this, each of us is prone to boredom - sloth - negligence - drowsy and lazy without realizing it. In the next few weeks, I would like to share my grace as I meditate on this problem of laziness.
2. The Bible Says Laziness Is Evil
*Go to the ant, you lazy, and see what it does, and be wise... Lazy, how long will you lie down... Sleep a little more, sleep a little longer, lie down a little longer, and your need will come like a robber, and you will suffer from poverty. will come together (Proverbs 6:6-11)
* He who is lazy with his hands becomes poor, and he who sleeps in harvest is a disgraceful son (Proverbs 10:4-5).
*The hand of the diligent is to rule over men, but the sluggish one suffers (Proverbs 12:24).
* I saw the field of the lazy, and it was covered with thorns and coarse grass (Proverbs 24:30-34) - In addition to these words, there are many warnings about the lazy, especially in Proverbs.
* When you are lazy, the sagebrush decays; when your hand is loose, the house leaks (Ecclesiastes 10:18).
*Go to the vineyard and work (Matthew 21:28)
*The Lord rebuked the servant who received one talent as “an evil and lazy servant” (Matthew 25:14-30)
* My Father works until now, and I work (John 5:17)
*Do not be lazy in diligence, be zealous and serve the Lord (Romans 12:11) *If you do not want to work, do not eat...Work quietly and eat your own food (2 Thessalonians 3:6-12)...etc.
Why does the Bible say laziness is evil?
(A) It is because being lazy makes a person poor, needy, and needy (Proverbs 6:6 et seq.).
(B) It is because people become dirty, dirty, and miserable (Proverbs 24:30 or less).
(C) It is because we become the servants of others (Proverbs 12:24).
(D) It is because I inflict damage that others have to do (2 Thessalonians 3:6 or less).
(E) Because it violates the order of creation (Genesis 1:1-2:19)
3. So, what is laziness?
first. God has blessed all living things (from single-celled animals to humans) to be fruitful and prosperous. In other words, he gave us the freedom and duty to pursue a better life. However, in a better life, there are hurdles that cannot be overcome without challenge - perseverance - sweaty effort - overcoming annoying obstacles - and burning zeal. However, laziness is an attitude of life that neglects, neglects, abandons work, gives up, and forgets to overcome this hurdle that is predicated on a better life.
second. There are two types of laziness: general laziness and disguised laziness.
*general laziness
(A) Procrastination is to procrastinate until tomorrow what should be done today.
(B) Failure to meet the promised time-period- deadline (homework, product delivery date, appointment time, tax bill, etc.).
(C) Various reasonable and plausible excuses, such as handing over one's work to another person, being ill, unable to obtain data, chaotic atmosphere, and needing to deal with the result of insufficient work is to present it.
* disguised laziness
(A) Do not do what you need to do, and waste time on complicated start-up rituals, excessive preparation, and warm-up for the task (e.g., a student anticipating what will happen while studying rather than studying, organizing desks, reference books Getting ready, going to borrow a note, getting ready for the night, an office worker sitting while keeping his seat, checking stock status outside of work, making private phone calls to friends, and wasting time with games).
(B) Getting caught up in trivial things that aren't important right now, or wandering around to do things that can be done later (alternative action)
(C) Hurry up to work. Hurry means that, on the surface, it seems that you are working hard, but in reality, you are lazy enough to have to hurry.
Therefore, laziness is essentially not a person's outward attitude, but an inner appearance hidden within him.
third. Laziness is not idleness. Idleness is a state of procrastinating and seeming idle on the outside, and inside is a state of anxiety and regret. Re-Creation is resting from work to the next level of a better life (Re-Creation). The idleness of a lazy person is hesitating and hesitating in front of the work to be done, and the idle person's leisure is leisure after finishing the work.
Therefore, the old
不是閑人閑不得 閑人不是等閑人
(Unfortunately, inevitably, Koreans inevitably have no time to enjoy true leisure unless they have finished their work and have free time.
