Title: If the Lord Wills

Bible: James 4:13-17

Starting Point of the Word>>

Today, this time we want to share God's grace by sharing the Word with the title of “If it is the will of the Lord”.

Example>>

A man, walking down the street, met a crossroad, hesitated about which direction to go, and decided to go east, but he threw it away saying, “I have to go in the direction this staff is pointing”.

Then the staff pointed to the west.

I threw it again, and this time it pointed north, and as I kept throwing the staff, it finally pointed to the east.

Then he said, “Look at this. There is a story of how the staff liked and went, saying, “Doesn’t this staff point to the east?”

However, among these people, there are many people who have already made a decision about something and request counseling.

If we believe in Jesus, we shouldn't believe in this way.

If you say you will live according to God's will and follow your own stubbornness and greed, it is no different from not believing in God properly and ignoring God.

In Western society, Christian beliefs are the foundation, and I see that their ideas are always supported by the term "If God wills" (Deo Volente).

As saints, when we do or plan something, we must always have the mindset that we can do it “if it is God's will” first.

Read the text of James 4:13-16 once again.

“Listen, you who say, Today or tomorrow, we will go to any city, spend a year there, trade and find money, you do not know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? Fog. You would rather say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this and that. Now you boast of your vain boasting, and all these boasting are evil."

Says.

Our lives are like mist, we do not know what will happen tomorrow, and even though our lives and death are all dependent on God, it is vain and evil to brag, boast, and boast as if we can do everything we want.

We must first have faith that we will do this and that, “if the Lord wills” in all things. The most important thing is not whether it is success or blessing, but whether it is God's will or not.

According to Romans 12:2,

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Said.

If you look at this word in its original Greek meaning, it means to prove “the will of God” through experience.

Go to Word>>

We must become saints who know the will of God.

First, we must become believers who know the will of the Lord first.

Above all, when the saints look at the things that are given to them, they must first be able to distinguish whether it is the will of the Lord or not.

Example>>

I urge the students and youth of the church to dream big.

Among our young people, there is a young man who is studying hard because his dream is to become a diplomat.

The young man, myself and other members of the church who know his dream, expect him to become a diplomat and give him encouragement. There is.

But I speak a little differently than others.

It means that whenever your dream is not what God wants, you should be prepared to let it go.

If we deviate from the Lord's will, we must remember that we are not successful in the Lord's will and we are not as poor as we are in the Lord's will.

In the Bible, there are people who suffered because they did not know the will of God.

Lot did not want to know God's will, but occupied the Jordan with greedy eyes and lived in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, but he suffered great misfortune later.

After listening to his wife, Abraham took Hagar, a maidservant, and gave birth to Ishmael. As a result, not only quarrels in the family, but also disputes between Israel and Palestine continued. As a result of Jonah's disobedience to God's will, the ship he was riding in caused a great storm, and many people lost their wealth. Jonah himself was about to die, but he barely survived and went to the city of Nineveh to preach God's will and save the people.

The Lord's will is the law of living in the world just like the law of universal gravitation, but when you disobey this law, problems and suffering and unhappiness come.

No matter how profitable it may seem, no matter how pleasant and happy it seems, you must first find out if it is “the will of the Lord” and be brave enough to give up and throw it away if it is not the will of the Lord.

If we look at verse 17,

“Therefore, if a man knows how to do good and does not do it, it is sin.”

Says.

In verse 16 of the text,

“Now you boast in your vain boasting, and all such boasting is evil.”

Said.

To succeed beyond the will of the Lord and to become rich is an abomination and evil in the sight of God.

Therefore, it is more important to know and do the will of the Lord first than success, happiness, or blessings.

God has a good plan of love for each and every one of his children. Therefore, I bless you in the name of the Lord that we who are saints will realize that we should become saints who put the highest priority on knowing and doing the Lord's will.

Second, we must become believers who believe that the will of the Lord is eternal.

If we look at the words of verse 14,

“You do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a moment and then disappears.”

Said.

Fog can seem so thick that you can't see an inch ahead, but it disappears quickly when the sun shines or the wind blows.

In the words of Psalm 90:10,

“The number of our years is seventy, and if we are strong, we are eighty, but the pride of those years is toil and sorrow.

Says.

This means that our life is short and blown away as swiftly as the mist, like the wind.

According to Proverbs 27:1,

“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what will happen in a day.”

is saying

What everyone in the world misunderstands today is that they know that if they accumulate a lot of wealth, they will be happy for a long time.

However, I hope that you will become believers who realize that life is not that long and that you do not know what will happen tomorrow.

We must realize that the person who prays for the things of the flesh and prepares things for eternity, not the person who is zealous, is a truly wise person.

Knowing “the will of the Lord” and doing it will remain forever.

Also in verses 15-16 of the text,

“You would rather say, “If it is the will of the Lord, we will live and do this and that.” But now you boast of false boasting, and all these boasting are evil.”

is saying

In 1 John 2:15-16,

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; for all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. came from.”

Say,

In verse 17,

“The world and its lusts pass away, but he who does the will of God abides forever.”

Said.

Only doing “the will of the Lord” remains forever.

In 1 Corinthians 3, it is said that things made of wood, grass, or straw burn away when the fire of judgment comes, but houses made of gold, silver, or precious stones will not burn and remain forever. There is nothing left without being rewarded for doing things according to glory or one's will.

The lesson is that only those who have done the will of God remain forever.

In the name of the Lord, I ask that you become believers who believe and realize that our lives are short and the Lord's will is eternal.

Third, we must become believers who realize that the Lord's will for us is the most secure.

It is said that a young man fears suffering and danger if he chooses “the will of the Lord.”

That is why they answered that it is the safest thing to do in “the will of the Lord.”

In other words, “the safest place in the world is where God wants it to be.”

Living according to God's will seems dangerous and it may cause a lot of suffering, but it is really the safest and true blessing.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego chose to go to the furnace to live according to God's will, but God was with them and they were rescued safely.

According to 1 Samuel 2:6-8,

“The LORD kills and makes alive; brings down into the grave, and raises up. The LORD makes poor and makes rich, he humbles and exalts. He raises the poor from the dust, and lifts up the needy from the dung heap with nobles. He makes them sit down and set them on the throne of glory.”

Said.

Therefore, following “the will of God” is the most blessed way and the way to true success.

According to Proverbs 16:33,

“Man casts the lot, but it is with the Lord that the matter is decided.”

Said.

Living “the will of the Lord” is not a path of danger and suffering, but a path to true success and happiness.

The way to live “the will of the Lord” is to take the key, not the shackle.

In order to know “the will of the Lord,” we must read and listen to the Bible a lot.

If you do not know the Bible, you cannot know the will of the Lord.

And we need to pray a lot.

Especially when making a decision about something, making a decision without prayer is self-defeating.

Before going to war, David said, “Shall we go or not?” After praying, I went to war. As a result, he won one hundred battles.

And one's pride and stubbornness must be broken.

If you don't break it, you can't obey, and if you do, you'll be hit with failures, losses and accidents.

If we are not beaten, our stubbornness and pride will not be broken, and we will not obey.

If we truly love the Lord because we are moved by the grace of redemption, we cannot help but obey Him.

In the name of the Lord, I ask you to remember that when we have the Lord's will with us today through His Word, we can be raised up as workers who exalt God in a safer place.

At the end of the speech>>

We must become saints who place the highest priority on knowing “the will of the Lord” in this age.

Obedience to “the will of the Lord” seems dangerous and costly, but it is the safest, true path to success, and the path to eternal blessing.

Even now, God is speaking through nature and the people around us so that we can understand His will.

I pray in the name of the Lord that you will have a blessed day when you realize God's wonderful will for us in this day's life given to us today, and be overcome by being caught up in the Spirit of God.
