Title: If You Believe in the Lord Jesus
Contents
The Bible records in many parts and forms what happens to “believe in the Lord Jesus”. The only purpose of a farmer sowing a field in the spring is to harvest fruit in the fall. However, there is a process for bearing fruit, not directly from the seed. As the Lord Jesus said, “First the bud, then the gleaning, and then the grain that is faithful to the gleaning,” there are many parts and different processes until it bears fruit that will go into the barn.
First of all, believing in the Lord Jesus means that you cannot believe in the Lord Jesus who was sent without faith in the God who sent him into the world. Therefore, the Lord Jesus Himself said, “...Believe in God, believe also in Me” (John 14:1). Therefore, the Bible recounts this in detail, saying, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
Faith comes from hearing, but faith is not everyone's. For salvation through faith does not come from man, but is a gift of God through God in Christ Jesus. A gift is not given to anyone. As it is written, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived of all that God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). It is faith and salvation that is given to those who love God. As it is written, “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).
There are three kinds of people in the world. The first is those who do not know God, the second is those who know God but do not love God, that is, those who do not obey the gospel, and the third is those who know God and truly love God. First, it is written about those who do not know God, “… These men are like irrational beasts, born to be caught and killed, blaspheming what they did not know, and perishing in their destruction” (2 Peter 2:12). These men blaspheme whatever they do not know; and like irrational beasts, they perish by what they know by instinct” (Jude 1:10). Second, there are too many testimonies about those who knew God but did not love God. A representative word of evidence is the parable of ten thousand talents and one hundred denarii, which the Lord Himself spoke of.
So, concerning the three kinds of people in the whole world, the prophets of old prophesied, “Two-thirds will perish from all this earth, saith the LORD, and a third will remain there; and I will throw a third into the fire, and refine it as silver, and refine it as silver, and refine it as gold. They will call on my name, and I will hear, and I will say, This is my people, and they will say, The LORD is my God” (Zechariah 13:8-9). “I will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus, and these will be punished with everlasting destruction from the face of the Lord and the glory of his strength” (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9). You testified.
What we need to be wary of here is in the testimonies of the testimony, “But when they knew God, they did not glorify him as God, nor give thanks; on the contrary, their thoughts became futile, and their foolish hearts were darkened. They exchanged glory for images made in the form of perishable men, and gold and dung. Therefore God gave them over to the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, to dishonor their bodies to one another, for they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and turned the creature into Creator. They worship and serve more than ever, to whom the Lord is to be praised forever. Amen” (Romans 1:21-25), he is a false brother who does not obey the gospel of the Lord Jesus.
Many false brothers who claim to believe in the Lord Jesus but do not obey the Gospel are disturbing the house of God. It is written, “The teachings of the faithful word must be kept as they are, so that they may exhort them with sound doctrine and reprove those who speak against them. To take it, they teach things that are not proper, and they fall all over the house” (Titus 1:9-11). If you believe in the Lord Jesus, you are no longer in the flesh, but in the spirit. Therefore, he said that those who believe have the testimony in themselves. Therefore, the Bible says, “Examine yourselves, whether ye are in the faith, and prove yourselves, do you not know for yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you, otherwise you are rejected” (2 Corinthians 13:5). You did.
If Jesus Christ is in me through faith in the Lord Jesus, I am no longer in the body, but in the spirit. By obeying the gospel in faith, the old man died on the cross with Jesus, and the new man rose again with the resurrection of Christ, and now we are God's children. It is written, “You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8). So now me and my family change. They became the family of God who believed in the Lord Jesus and obeyed the gospel from the family of the flesh, which was born through lineage, the will of the flesh, and the will of man.
That is why the Bible says, “Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. At the time when Christ, who is our life, appears, then you will also appear with him in glory” (Colossians 3:1-4).
Therefore, the Lord Jesus Himself said to the people of God's house, "Do not call anyone on earth your father, for you have one Father, who is in heaven" (Matthew 23:9). "Are you all these people?" He looked around those who were sitting around and said, "Look at my mother and my brothers, whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother" (Mark 3:33-36).
If we believe in the Lord Jesus and obey the gospel (then), we become children of God, and by putting off the old man and putting on the new man, the old things pass away and we become the new things. If this fact is not realized, the belief is in vain. The Bible testifies that faith without works is dead faith.
Therefore, “believe on the Lord Jesus, and you and your household” will change. So my kingdom is no longer of the world, but of heaven. Citizenship is also in heaven. Those who enter the kingdom of God are those who have citizenship of that country. A citizen of that country is not of the world. These are people who are not in the body but in the spirit.
As the Lord Jesus Himself said, “They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world” (John 17:16). This is the eternal gospel, and the end of faith, that is, the salvation of souls.
It is a lie that the old man of the world does not die and believes in Jesus. Because if you believe in Jesus, you must receive the Spirit of the Son and become a child of God. It is written, “Whoever believes in me, as the Bible says, from his belly will flow rivers of living water.” This was referring to the Holy Spirit who would receive him who believed in him. It is the same as the evidence that God said)” (John 7:38-39). Therefore, those who have received the Spirit of the Son put off the old man and put on the new man.
Although Abraham had two sons, he did not regard the children of the flesh as children, but the children of the promise received through faith in the remote land. It is written, “It is written, ‘Abraham had two sons, one by the slave girl and the other by the free woman. something like
Therefore, He said, “What is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Thank you Lord.
