Title: Ignorance

Contents

Text Philippians 3:5-9

Dear saints, There is a saying, “Knowledge is power.”

Do you know a lot? Is there a lot you don't know? Most people don't know more than they know. Even with a cell phone that is always in your hand or in your pocket, how many percent of its functions do you know and use? Nowadays, good cellphones have camera functions as well as navigation and Internet functions, but we carry around 1/100 of the functions, let alone 1/10, of a cell phone that can be used for various purposes without using it properly. why? “Because I don’t know, I don’t know…”

Today's sermon is titled "Ignorance". There is a lot of ignorance in the great knowledge and information, but there are many things that we do not know, but “I pray that the knowledge of Jesus is as abundant as the knowledge.”

The ‘Household Wealth Report’ published by the UN Institute for Development and Economics recently was reported in the Chosun Ilbo. Did you know that among the world's more than 6.5 billion people, almost half of them earn less than $1 a day? How well do you live among the 6.5 billion people in the world? Below middle, middle, upper middle, within the top 10%? Where?

According to the UN report, if you have a household wealth of 57 million won, you are one of the richest people in the world's top 10%. What is household wealth? Including cash + real estate + tangible property, is it within 10%? Then you are the best out of ten.

If you have a household wealth of $2,200 per adult (about 2.1 million won), you are included in the top 50% of the world, and if you have a household wealth of $500,000 (about 470 million won) or more, the world's richest 1% (the richest person out of 100) person) is said to belong to

In this way, we do not know that we are rich, we complain, we live in despair of being poor. because it's ignorant.

In the 50s and 60s, amid the ruins of the 6.25 war, black rubber shoes were not enough, let alone sneakers, so if there was a single missing rubber ball anywhere, the rubber shoes would fly higher than the ball after school at the playground with friends. It was a poor people who lived without hope or dreams. It was President Park Chung-hee, who led the 5.16 Military Revolution, who reminded me that this people can live well out of that ignorance. He went abroad to see highways and built highways for the economic development of our country. Unfortunately, at that time, Presidents Kim Young-sam and Kim Dae-jung, ignorant of the economy, fought against the construction of the highway. As such people became rulers, the miraculous economic growth of 150 times from GNP of $67 to $10,000 was hit by the IMF, and suffered the pain of slowing down. It has become a threat to the Korean Peninsula.

But Jesus knew. Where did you come from? To quote Jesus’ words for a moment, ‘except the Son of Man who came down from heaven (John 3:13), God sent his Son into the world (17), and he whom God sent speaks the words of God (34). .'

'He who believes in him who sent me has eternal life (5:24), and I have come in my Father's name (43),' 'it is the work of God that you believe in him whom he sent (6:29).' (38) I did the will of him who sent me (39).'

Jesus knew that He came from the Father. You know that the kingdom of heaven is your hometown. Not only that, he knew what he had to live for.

“It was to be given as a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28). The Son of Man came to save the lost (18:11).”

“He gave his only begotten Son... so that through him the world might be saved (John 3:16-17).”

In the end, you knew where you were going. “No one has gone up to heaven except the Son of Man who came down from heaven” (John 3:13)

‘Knowing that the hour has come for Jesus to leave the world and return to the Father (John 13:1), I am coming to the Father (17:11).’

During the three years of his public life, Jesus devoted himself exclusively to preaching the gospel, and at the end of his public life, he prayed with all his might so that his sweat would become drops of blood to prepare for the death of the cross while bearing the sins of all mankind in the Garden of Gethsemane. And on the cross, he makes a solemn final prayer. “Father, into your hands I commit my soul” (Luke 23:46).

In conclusion, let me tell you.

“Why am I in this world, and what should I live for?” need to know This will make it clear where to return. “This people I have formed for myself, that they may sing my praises” (Isaiah 43:21).

“The Father is looking for worshipers” (John 4:23).

It's Advent. Prepare and wait for the birth of the baby Jesus who came to this earth ahead of Christmas, and above all, I pray that you have the wisdom to know my existence.
