Bible Text: Matthew 18:18-20
in the name of jesus christ
A name has its own nature and personality. His philosophy, thought, ability, and dignity are concentrated in his name. God created man and named him 'Adam', and he entrusted Adam to name other creatures. Adam named all livestock birds and beasts. However, the name of the Son of God was not given to his parents, but he named it himself and told an angel to call him ‘Jesus’. Jesus means the one who will deliver his people from their sins. We are saved in the name of Jesus, we gather to worship in that name, and we sing praises in that name.
Gather together in the name of Jesus Christ.
“Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them” (verse 20).
What does it mean to gather together in Jesus name? The church is a gathering of people gathered in the name of the Lord. The Lord's Church is a group of people gathered in the name of the Lord. Jesus said in parables that the kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and put into flour to make it all up (Matthew 13:33). The gathered saints are flour, and Jesus is leaven. The leaven in the flour is like Jesus in the place where we are gathered in the name of the Lord. Jesus wants to come into our midst to change us. To make him change us, we must come together.
“After the Lord Jesus came into my heart, he changed and became a new person...” Just as fresh water flowing into the sea turns into sea water, new believers also change. The church is a “transformed community,” and it must continue to change.
In order for the Lord to be with us, we must gather together in His name. To be among them means to be among them. It means that you will be in the ‘center’ of the position that has the greatest influence. The center refers to the heart or heart.
It is said that when God looks at people, he does not look at the outward appearance, but the heart. God confirms that Jesus is at the center of the church. The Apostle Paul said that I had the heart of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:8).
The church gathered in the name of the Lord is the church that has Jesus as its head. The head refers to the subject and leader of a community. The head is the head located at the top of the body. The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the head of the church. The Lord wants you to be the head of those gathered together in the name of Jesus.
Gathering together in the name of the Lord means being united with the Lord. “He that is united with the Lord is one spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17). If the spirits are different, then we cannot be united with the Lord. There is the spirit of Jesus and there is the spirit of heresy. “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are of God... By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus It does not belong to God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist” (1 John 4:1-3). It is a Jesus-centered church. Jesus is the head, and they are members united in spirit. Let us gather in the name of the Lord and build a church where the Lord is with us.
Ask for it in the name of Jesus Christ.
It is to ask in Jesus name. “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you…so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you” (John 15:16).
Every member of the Church has been chosen by the Lord. There is a promise given to the chosen ones. If you pray in that name, you will receive everything. “If two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven” (verse 19).
One condition for receiving the promised blessings is to ask in the name of Jesus. “Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name he will give it” (John 16:23) The privilege given to the elect is to pray in the name of Jesus. The privilege of the saints is prayer, and prayer is the weapon of success. It is because prayer gives us the strength to overcome difficulties. Prayer can enable you to do things you cannot do on your own and blow away negative thoughts. You will not reach success if you do not drive out negative thoughts and overcome obstacles.
The power in the name of Jesus is revealed through prayer. Prayer in the name of Jesus leads you to the throne of God. Prayer is like a chariot going to heaven. The prayer wagon comes back with what I have requested. There are prayers with words and prayers with thoughts. God knows what you think before you speak. He knows what we need before we ask. He gives you more abundantly than you ask or think.
“Until now you have asked for nothing in my name; ask, and you will receive, so that your joy may be full” (John 16:24). What you did not receive even if you ask for it is because you asked for it incorrectly. Prayers in the name of Jesus will always have an answer. Instead of looking at me and answering me, he sees Jesus and makes it happen.
Queen Elizabeth gave the Earl of Essex a ring and said, "If I am in trouble and need help, I will help you send this ring." That ring is the ring of promise. “Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, which is a new and living way that he has opened for us through the veil...” (Hebrews 10:19-20). get Courage arises when we overcome guilt in the name of Jesus. “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6)
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) “Call on me in the day of trouble, and I will deliver you, and you will glorify me” (Psalm 50:15) The answer to prayer is Jesus The name is the condition. Ask in the name of Jesus and receive whatever you ask for.
I command you in the name of Jesus Christ.
It is commanded in the name of Jesus. To command means to command. When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion said to him, “Lord, my servant is suffering from a paralysis.” Jesus said, “I will go and heal him.” The centurion said, “Lord, I am not worthy to come to my house. So, only do it with your words.” He said, “If you give orders to those under your subordinates, you will do as they are told. Jesus marveled at his words and said he had never met such a faith in any of Israel. He said, “According to your faith, it be done.” The servant was healed immediately (Matthew 8:13). He believed that Jesus had to command it.
Peter and John As they were going into the temple to pray, they saw a man born lame begging, saying, “Silver and gold I have none, but what I have I give you; in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, get up and walk” (Acts 3:6). He grabbed his right hand and got him up, and he gained strength in his feet and ankles, and he ran and walked and jumped and went into the temple and praised God. The crippled was raised by the power of the name of Jesus. People thought Peter or John had raised the lame. But Peter made it clear. “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Why do you focus your attention on us, as if by our own power and godliness we made this man walk… God has glorified his servant Jesus” (Acts 3:12-13).
Glory to God if we too can command in the name of Jesus Christ. The disciples of Jesus said, “Lord, in your name even the demons surrender. Jesus I saw Satan falling like lightning from heaven, and I have given authority over all power of the enemy, and no one will harm you” (Luke 10:17-1). wish you do Just as the wind and the sea calmed down when Jesus commanded, command in the name of Jesus, and prosper as you commanded. The authority in the name of Jesus is the only power that can overcome the power of the devil.
“Our enemy, the devil, is being cast out because we are afraid to hear the name of Jesus! Believers, you are like a soldier...” You must be armed in the name of Jesus to be a soldier of Jesus.
Here is Jesus' prayer: "I have revealed your name to those whom you gave me out of the world; they were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word" (John 17:6). that the name was indicated.
How can we express the name of Jesus? They can be grouped together by that name. Let us reveal the Lord by being transformed, just as yeast mixes with flour to transform it. Let him be our heart and our head. Then it will reveal the name of the Lord.
Reveal the Lord in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ. “...whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Even if you cannot see me and give me it, if you ask in the name of Jesus Christ, it will be given. Please pray in the name of Jesus Christ and receive it as an answer. Peter and Paul are people who pray. It was used through prayer.
If we pray too, we can become the authority to give orders in the name of Jesus. “If you have faith as little as a mustard seed, and you say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20) May you enjoy freedom and peace.
