Title: In the Presence of God
Contents Joshua 5:13-15 In the presence of God
There are less than 50 days left for the University Scholastic Ability Test. In our church, two people are preparing for the exam. We ask for your prayers and encouragement. Around this time, many parents are anxious and cannot stay at home. They go out to the gods they believe in and pray earnestly.
They pour water, light candles, make resolutions, and bow down 100 or 1000 times a day, each doing their due diligence.
But what is truly sad is that people do their best, but the gods can't do anything about it. No power, no power, no miracle. It is just made of wood, and is only gilded with gold and silver.
But the God we believe in is not the God we believe in. The Almighty God is the living God, the God of power, the Creator of all things in the universe, and the Ruler over the waters and the sea. He is the God of prudence, the King of kings, who lived in the past, is alive today, and lives forever in the future.
Above all, He is a very good God who always comes and saves us when we are in crisis or when we earnestly seek help. It can also be found in the text. God came to Joshua, who was about to go to war with Jericho. He did not come simply, he came fully armed so that he could go to war immediately.
Fully armed?
The war is fought against Israel led by Joshua and the people living in Jericho. Therefore, it is natural that Joshua and the people of Israel should prepare for war. But the commander of God's army came out armed.
America's greatest war hero is Rambo. If you have one Rambo, you can fight hundreds of thousands without nodding.
However, he sent Joshua the commander of the army of Jehovah God, who had more power and wisdom than Rambo. Who will win? Wouldn't that be one?
Who can win?
You God is the one who helps us like this. He is the one who fights for us. He is the one who makes war on my behalf.
‘You are like Granger. - Someone bought the Grandeur - Tyco keeps following / Pauses - Asks / Why are you following me? / What would you have answered? Is it a gift?
You are not a gift from God. You are the protagonists of this world. They are the sons and daughters of God. That's why God helps every moment.
You will meet God fighting for me every moment. You will see Jesus who died on the cross for me, and Jesus who rose from the dead and gave us the authority to become children of God. To help you, you will see Jesus in front of your life path.
No, now our Jesus is with me and you.
Then, how should we live in the presence of God every moment? I would like to share the grace with the focus on verse 14 of the text.
First, we must humble ourselves.
Verse 14) “He said, “No, I am now the captain of the Lord’s army.” So Joshua fell on his face and bowed before him, and said to him, “My lord, what do you want to say to your servant?”
Joshua fell on his face and bowed down. It acknowledges and submits to God's authority. It is an action with meaning.
Recognizing and obeying authority seems easy, but in reality it is very difficult. That's because it involves having to let go of everything you own. Recognizing God's authority means unconditional obedience to God's Word.
If you say go, you go, if you say stop, you stop, and if you say let go, you have to put it down.
If you want to let it go, you have to let it go, and if you want to take it, you have to get it. This is an attitude of obedience to God's authority.
When you say something, obey what you say - Is it easy for believers these days?
How many saints are obeying and obeying God's authority?
Do you want to throw away what you want to throw away? Are you giving me what you want me to offer? Are you doing what you told me to do?
In the end, this humility means recognizing authority.
At this point, Clinton spoke briefly.
“The president of the United States is now Obama. I just report to him, don't ask me.” He showed respect for the leader.
But what about us? They take leaders too easily. They treat me like a minion, and I take it too easy. The authority of the leader, including the authority of the president. The authority of the teacher, the authority of the parents fell to the ground. Some people also say: Don't you have to pay a leader's price to be recognized as a leader? This is a freak. It's not biblical. The Bible says that leaders are established by God. Because of this, I command you to obey and pray for him.
David never ignored King Saul. As the anointed king of God, did you not respect him to the end and acknowledge his authority?
The president we elected, the leaders around us. our masters. Our parents... are people we should respect and cherish. We must respect them and recognize their authority.
Especially for the saints, the authority of the church is the authority of God. When the authority of the church falls, the authority of God is damaged. Everyone says that the authority of the church has fallen a lot these days. But when you do your research, you discover something truly astonishing. The members of the church are undermining the authority of the church.
When a church enters a building or neighborhood, the first person to oppose it is a Christian. “Because someone else's church is coming in.” Of course, it's not good to walk in without any measures a few meters apart. However, if you gossip about it to unbelievers, the unbelievers will hear that and will oppose the Church for the rest of their lives, and even live as children of Hell. In the end, the saints who need to be saved become more and more children of hell.
But if you show respect and respect through me, the world will respect and respect you too.
Therefore, believers should always bow down before God so that they can humble themselves.
In the Middle Ages, St. Bernard created his own norms, realizing that if even a little pride started to sprout, he would quickly ruin it.
first. Know your sin and be humbled - Let's live while thinking that I am the greatest sinner among people - In fact, Paul said, 'I am the chief of sinners'
second. Confess your sins and confess the truth. - When you say you did something wrong, what is wrong? Let's confess with contrite 'Repent to God every moment'
third. Sweetly accept the humiliation when someone finds out about my mistakes or decisions and turns them down.
fourth. When someone criticizes me, I just think of God and quietly endure it.
When I humble myself in this way, the authority of the Lord is never compromised. Never the authority of the Lord. It should not be a tool to undermine the authority of a leader.
Also, to bow down humbly means to entrust yourself to God and pray.
Our Jesus came to this earth as the only begotten Son of God. He is worthy to receive glory and praise and praise. However, he had to suffer the most painful and confessional crucifixion in the world. In front of the cross that caused pain and shame, our Lord prayed like this.
He prayed, “If it is possible, let this cup pass from me; but not as I will, but as you will.”
The disciples who witnessed this expressed it this way.
Matthew 26:37 He was troubled and mourned when he took Peter and Zebedee's two sons.
Verse 39 went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying,
Prayer is essential for believers. Everyone is praying. I pray like this a lot.
- Two Jews in a lifeboat. - Drifting.
A man prays, “God, if you save me, I will donate two-thirds of my fortune. no news Prayer again God, if you save me here
Then another man calls out. “Hey wait, I see the island, stop trading.” Then he stopped praying.
- A woman passing by a shaky bridge prays to God “If you allow me to cross safely, I will put 10,000 won into the charity box. Almost all the way across, I said, 'I'm going to put in only 5,000 won or 100 won because 10,000 won is too much.
The startled woman shouted, “I was joking. I'll put in ten thousand won," he exclaimed.
This prayer is inevitably followed by the wrath of God.
There are also prayers that we should be wary of. It is a prayer request. “Please. ~ please. Please do it all. I just pray for you.
In some cases, intimidating prayers may be offered. “If you don’t do this, leave it and see what I do”
This is never beneficial. Hundreds and thousands of times went with the wind. It is just a gong that rings even if you fast and run.
We must have the clear Word of God, trust in God, and pray to God. It's not because we're smart that we pray. It's not going well.
Because it is through Jesus Christ.
It is because the authority to become children of God was given through the events of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Therefore, we must completely depend on Jesus and ask humbly with thanksgiving for salvation.
Father God. Please allow me to reveal the glory of God through me.
-I have a lot of boys and girls around me. I have to take care of them, but I want to. God help me to do this through me. Give me material blessings.
-God. David and Solomon longed so long to build the temple. Lord, I want to do this precious ministry while I am alive. This is the only building donation I have given now.
Please bless my business so that I can build my father's house. Give me material blessings to do this work.
- This is Father's Great Command evangelism. I feel uncomfortable while evangelizing right now - please bless me with health.
- Father I want to spend more time with God - The gift of tongues
- I want to be a tool of love in the church. Give me the gift of love,,,,
-Father, I became a child of God through Jesus Christ. I have the authority of a child of God that the Lord has given me.
- Please expand the boundaries so that we can live like children of God. You should be able to pray, “Please expand the boundaries so that we can do more missions.”
- With ten days of income, God, I give God's things like this. You can't be satisfied with this, God only life. We should pray that God bless us to give 100 times more than this.
God wants to help us. no you help He meets us fully armed and ready for everything.
We are now before him. You should be able to humble yourself daily with humility. God's authority. leadership authority. The authority of teachers and parents must be acknowledged and strengthened.
You must be able to pray with humility. We need to pray that we have God's holy vision and become a tool to achieve that vision.
