Title: In the Silent Room

In fact, many people have prejudices about the Old Testament. The unique personality and culture of the Jews seems to play a role in misleading the Old Testament. But in retrospect, Christianity would not have existed without Judaism. In addition, since Abraham and Jesus are worshiped in Islam, direct and indirect relationships with the Old Testament are acknowledged.

Whenever I had a chance, I used to go to museums that introduced and exhibited the history, culture, and religion of the Jews. I was very impressed with the Jewish Museum in New York, and especially in Berlin, Germany, I was deeply moved when I went to a museum where German people organized Jewish life from ancient times to the Middle Ages and modern times with a sincere apology to the Jews. The “Room of Silence”, which I gave today's title, is also a room in the Berlin Museum that I gave myself a name. This recently opened museum introduces the process by which Jews were scattered around the world after the fall of Israel. It was well displayed so that you can know at a glance who the great people who lived there were and what their lives and contributions were.

There are several explanations for why the Germans brutally killed 6 million Jews. The Jews were so good at commerce that they tried to steal money, no. The Jews were never wealthier than the average German, just an expression of white supremacy. They set up a hypothetical superior race called the Aryans and manipulated the eugenics theory to mislead the people. no. Above all, it was because of the religious reasons that they were the people who killed Jesus. In other words, Christians could not forgive the Jews for killing their Messiah, the Son of God. etc. It is said that on Passion Day in Europe, Jews were not even able to walk on the road, and Christians often killed them on the road if they went out. There are many explanations, but in my opinion, the only explanation that can be explained is that Christians are not tolerant of people who are different from themselves and are not willing to accept diversity.

As a Christian, what I find most embarrassing is the arrogance and pride of Christians. There are many people who mistakenly believe that Christianity has the privilege of condemning, slaughtering, and slaughtering, saying that only I am right and right, other religions, other opinions, and other cultures are inferior. The superiority of Christianity and the characteristics of Christianity are supposed to go together. Perhaps what shocked me in the Silence Room was the fact that we were also repeating the mistakes of the German people in slaughtering Jews. How many people is hurt, saddened, and killed by our psyche, always wanting to think that we are clean and superior, always with someone as a scapegoat? Perhaps the artist who created the Silent Room made us think about that?

The problem is that there are too many people who have been swept away by the waves of the majority and have tried to be honest believers. I think it takes courage to always reflect, repent, and find alternative ways. Recently, in Germany and Europe, as the reflection on anti-Semitism continued, the work of excavating and publishing stories about those who were friendly to the Jews during World War II was in progress. Until now, it was unacceptable because it interfered with Germany's confession of guilt, but now it is a new attempt with the intention of revealing the truth. It took a lot of courage to even start doing something like this. In that sense, I would like to think about a book called The Pianist that I believe you have all seen.

Our hope is that this German officer who was also a German officer, resisted German policy and persecution of Jews, who resisted in his own way without losing his humanity in the face of mass hysteria, thus saving the pianist Spielmann. I would like you to quietly consider whether we will become part of the majority of the crowd and lose our minds and be swept away, or whether we will become believers who believe in and practice the existence and love of God in all circumstances. Just as Sodom was destroyed because there were no ten righteous people, we may not know how many righteous people we need. The Bible verse you read earlier also said that God had a “remnant” chosen by grace. I hope that you will become the “remnants” in this turbulent and chaotic era and become the righteous “remnants” who clear this era of uniformity and violence. During the week of Advent, I pray that you will receive the grace to become a “remnant” as you empty yourself from the “room of silence” and reflect on the meaning of the coming of Jesus Christ. *
