The altar for incense is different from the altar of burnt or bronze made for sacrifice, and it is made of pure gold to burn incense twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. We have to stand before God morning and night, telling Him about Him, and pleasing Him by fellowshipping. This incense, offered twice daily in the morning and in the evening, tells us that the saints must not stop praying to God. Therefore, through today's text
First, the altar of incense signifies prayer. So what kind of prayer should we pray?
The carving wood was wrapped in gold. This means the prayer of faith. (James 1:6-7) We must pray of faith.
The incense altar looks like a square. This is a prayer of justice. We must seek God's will, not our own desires. (About 4:2-3)
The altar of incense has four horns. This is the prayer of authority. It is the authority of the name of Jesus. (Mark 16:17-18)
?Incense is lit in the morning and evening. This is a continuous prayer (relay prayer).
It is a fire that burns incense. This is the prayer of fire. The fire used for the incense altar is the fire from the burnt offering. It is a prayer from God.
Atonement was made for the horns once a year. This is a prayer of correction. It is always to check whether this prayer is right in God's eyes and to revise the prayer subject. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Second, there are four types of incense used. Therefore, the prayer that God accepts is
?Sohaphyang/ It is a fragrance that comes out of the wood.
It is a prayer of thanks and praise that flows from within me with joy. ?Nagamhyang/ It is a fragrance made by grinding the shells of shellfish. This is the prayer of Gethsemane (an earnest prayer, a prayer that gives up on me). (Matthew 26:39)
?Satire / Scent used as a disinfectant from rubber trees. It is a prayer to remove my sinful nature, upbringing, maliciousness, disobedience, and unbelief.
?Frankincense/ A fragrance applied to the body to remove odors. It is a prayer to remove evil thoughts, evil hearts, the schemes of the wicked, the ways of sinners, and bad habits.
?Salt/Salt is a symbol of the covenant (Leviticus 2:13) and is a prayer offered while holding onto God's covenant. The use of salt in making incense means an immutable covenant and anti-corruption. Therefore, salting incense is to preserve the fragrant incense (faith, hope, love) and burn it to God.
“Lord! May my prayers, my worship and devotion, and my life be a feast to be adored before you!”
