Bible: John 14:15-20

When we look through the Bible, we see people who became great through the Holy Spirit. In the book of Acts, there is a great preacher named Apollos. He becomes a great preacher after hearing the teachings of Aquila and Priscilla on the workings of the Holy Spirit.
The same goes for the disciples of Jesus. Even the disciples, who lived with Jesus and experienced great miracles together, were quarreling for high positions until they received the Holy Spirit. However, after experiencing the Holy Spirit, I became humble, loving and compassionate to others.
We also need to take a look at our faith today. We have to live a life where the Holy Spirit dwells in the center of our hearts and we want the Holy Spirit to be the master of our lives. We need to see if we really live that way.
The Apostle Paul was also a Pharisee among the Pharisees, and although he had studied a lot, he did not show any power until he met Jesus and was baptized with the Holy Spirit through Ananias. After receiving the Holy Spirit through Ananias, I immediately went out and started preaching the fact that Jesus is the Christ.
How can we live a life where the Holy Spirit dwells among us?
First, we believe in the promise of the coming of the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, given by Jesus.
Jesus promises, “When I leave, I will send you the Counselor, the Holy Spirit.” The reason why Jesus sends the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, is because he never leaves us orphans. Verse 20 says that when that day comes, I will live in you and you will abide in me. This is the promise Jesus made to us. It is a promise to send the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, the most important thing for us is to believe in this promise made by Jesus. Abraham, the father of faith, firmly believed what God had said, "Your descendants will be as numerous as the stars in the sky, and as the grains of sand on the seashore." The Bible says “Abraham believed this, and God counted him righteous.”
The second is to wait for that promise.
Jesus' disciples believed this promise. So, after Jesus ascended to heaven, they gathered in the temple and prayed fervently for ten days. They gathered together to receive the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, sent by Jesus. Just as they waited, just ten days later, as Jesus promised, the Holy Spirit was fully present, and a work of indwelling in the hearts of the disciples took place.
Third, those who wait for the Holy Spirit and those who wait for the promise must wait earnestly and earnestly.
In Matthew 25, there is a parable of the ten virgins. Knowing that the bridegroom is coming, the five virgins are diligently preparing oil and lamps and waiting for them, while the five virgins know that the bridegroom is coming, but do not prepare oil and lamps. . In the end, the bridegroom came, but the five lazy virgins could not participate in the heavenly feast. Through this parable, we learn that those who wait for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit cannot be lazy and have no choice but to be diligent.
The promise that Jesus promised to send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, when I leave, surely comes to us. We believe that only those who believe in the promise and wait earnestly and diligently will be transformed into the life of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the life of power.
Fourth, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit will come upon those who have been intimate with Jesus.
The first people to receive the Holy Spirit are the disciples. The disciples were the closest people to Jesus. They were the closest and most intimate. The Holy Spirit is a person. The Holy Spirit comes upon those with whom we are intimate. When we say that we believe in the Lord all our lives and the day we stand before the Lord, the Lord says he doesn't know us, there is no meaning anymore. In the name of the Lord, I pray in the name of the Lord that all the saints who live on this earth and live a powerful life in the presence of the promised Holy Spirit by staying close with the Lord.
Fifth, there is a price to pay for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
There are times when things that we buy with a lot of price are not easily thrown away and are kept well. Yes, because it is valuable to me.
In order to receive the Holy Spirit, you must work hard and sweat in your own way. In order for the Holy Spirit to dwell in us, there are things that we have to give up as if we were paying a price. Peter left the net. However, the things we cannot throw away the most are pride, stubbornness, and self-philosophy. These are the things you really need to throw away. When I let go of my pride, stubbornness, and philosophy, peace comes, and peace is established, and that is where the indwelling of the Holy Spirit takes place.
In the name of the Lord, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will become the saints of Hanshin who believe in the promise of Jesus and earnestly long for the Holy Spirit, and that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit will help you to live powerfully with the power of the Holy Spirit.
