Title/ To Inspire God to Be Blessed - 6
Bible/ 2 Samuel 7:1~16
There is a saying that pays off a thousand nyang debt in one word. However, if those words are not sincere, everyone knows, without needing to say, that they would rather become angry.
David is such a person.
Because he loves God with all his heart, through the words he said in front of Hana Nam, God receives tremendous blessings that he cannot handle.
In other words, he was inspired by God.
God refers to David as God “a man after his own heart.” Here, “one who is united” means “those who follow the heart of God”.
Yes, if there is a way to impress God
It is to become a person who follows the heart of God.
The words of this text enter an era called the so-called “Heaven of Peace” when David finished his so-called conquest and now the nation will spend a day of peace.
However, it can be seen that David's heart, who accomplished that day, was not at ease. Why?
It is because of the ark of the covenant, a symbol of God's presence.
David tells his heart to Nathan the prophet: “I live in a palace made of fragrant and fine wood, and the ark of God is in the veil. The ark of the covenant of God is still in the tabernacle. I live in a house made of tall stones and fine wood, but the house of God is still in the middle of the tabernacle.” Then Nathan said, "The king is with the king, so do all that is in your heart." That night God said to Nathan. (2 Samuel 7:8~16)
God was moved by David's words and told him to deliver the following words to David.
David's blessing (2 Samuel 7:8-9a)
he was a shepherd At home, when Samuel visits Jesse's house, you see that he was not recognized by his brothers or even by his father.
But there was one thing in particular about David, and that was his holy wrath at the contempt of God's name. You can tell from what he said when he went out to Goliath in the fight against Goliath.
And God blesses him with the words of David, who has lived his whole life with that heart.
1. It is the blessing of making your name great. (2 Samuel 7:8~9)
God accomplishes this, as can be seen from the fact that he used him as the standard when judging the kings after David. “If you walk in David’s way, you are a good king, and if you do not follow David’s way, you are regarded as an evil king and disciplined.
2. It is a blessing for all the people to settle in one place (verse 10).
The people of Israel are nomadic people, and if it doesn't rain, they have to move along the water to live, and in doing so, their lives may be threatened. It is truly a great blessing that such a nation can settle and live.
(from monthly rent to jeonse from jeonse to my house) This blessing
3. The blessing of rest (v. 11a)
God looks back on the period of the judges. It can be inferred that the time when he set up judges to fight the people was never a good memory for God's heart.
At that time, if Israel disobeyed, he raised up other neighboring nations and disciplined them, but now he promises to defeat all enemies and give Israel peace.
Even for us today, we must ask God to give us the blessing of rest.
The prayer of Jabez shows how important it is. “Leave me out of trouble and be free from sorrow”
No matter how good you are, no matter how good you are, if you have no peace in your heart, it is like hell.
Also, having peace in your heart is a direct proof that God is with you now.
4. It is a blessing to build a family (11b)
This word refers to the blessing that children are born well, smart and prosperous, and a family is built. Even if one of the family members is doing well, it becomes a problem if the house is not well established.
But it is said that David's family will be blessed.
5. It is the garment of death. (12a)
It means that you don't die from disease, you don't die in an accident, you don't die in war (gaeksa), and you die when you run out of life as instructed (hosang)
To die well is a great blessing.
6. The blessing of the firmness of David's throne (12a)
The kingdom remained strong until the time of Solomon.
For parents, it is a blessing for their children to do well. A blessing for our children.
7. The blessing of temple building (13)
In reality, it means a lot of wisdom, wealth, and ability. Solomon was like that
Spiritually, it prophesied the coming of Jesus Christ, and it means that God will establish His kingdom forever.
8. The blessing of not depriving God of grace (14-15)
When Saul sinned, he usurped Saul's throne and took his grace, but even if he sins from David, he will punish him with the rod of love and the whip of life, but the blessing that he does not take away his grace like Saul.
Remembering this promise, God held on to Solomon until the end, even in the midst of his wrong actions.
9. The blessing of the family and the country, the blessing of the Messiah (16)
Because David loved God, he spoke sincere words from his heart, and his words moved the heart of God, and he received blessings from generation to generation.
