Text - Matthew 11:28
Title - Invitation of Jesus
The gift of God, called salvation, is available to anyone, and He has made this message known to all.
Those who are thirsty just need to respond to his invitation at any time.
Those who have no money, who have nothing to brag about or to show off, may come.
The owner did not restrict anyone.
As we can see from the incident of sending Jonah to Nineveh, the Lord values all souls and is interested in their salvation.
Yehwa - Thank you for the way I am now
There was a young man who wanted to live without God. ‘
The young man who thought that he would show that he can live well without God enjoys life in the world, gets married and becomes a father of two daughters. .
In the meantime, his eyesight suddenly decreased due to an unknown cause, and he eventually became blind at the age of 37.
Thought of death, he tried to commit suicide several times, but even death did not go his way.
Then the voice of God came to him.
“Do not be afraid or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
For the first time in his life, he felt peace of mind.
After that, he became a priest after many twists and turns around the streets of Seoul Station.
He established a night school to open the way of learning to children on the streets who were with him, and about 800 children who received education passed the GED and pioneered their own lives.
Many blind people came to the Saebit Mission for the Blind, which he founded.
The pastor is confessing this.
“I am grateful for who I am today. Because I was abandoned, I could understand the pain of the abandoned, and because I lost my sight, I could experience the pain of the blind.
The little servant is trying to convey to the ends of the world God the Creator, which he came to know by closing his eyes.
1. It is an unconditional invitation.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden”
A world feast always has an invitee.
The more dignified the feast, the more strictly the invitees are limited.
However, the gospel, the invitation to the heavenly feast, which cannot be compared with any other dignified feast on earth, is an invitation without a target.
Then who are those who labor and are heavy laden?
Wouldn't it be the lowest class in any society?
Or is he not a person who is weighed down by the weight of real life, regardless of class?
Who in the world would pay attention to them?
But in Romans 3:22,
By saying, “That is the righteousness of God, which is reached to all who believe in Jesus Christ through faith in Jesus Christ, without distinction,” the gospel says that it invites people without distinction.
As we live in a democratized society now, it may not be very real, but at the time, when we were confined to high racial, religious, sexual, and class barriers, it was a bombastic declaration and a revolutionary declaration.
It is our grim reality that there are still invisible high barriers based on race, class, and origin, but what is clear is that the gospel still invites us without any discrimination and conditions.
☞ Toil (Hoi Kopiontes): This refers to the state of being constantly tired from doing many things by oneself.
☞ Heavy-bearer (peportismenoi): This refers to those who continue to be weary, burdened with burdens by others. In addition to the pain of sin, anxiety, and physical duties, especially the traditionally imposed laws and traditions. It also means burden.
☞ Come all to me: Jesus not only reveals the Father, but also invites sinners. In other words, Jesus is inviting salvation and rest with the broad love that anyone who comes to Him can receive and absolute authority to call all human beings Himself.
☞ I will give you rest: This does not mean only the eternal rest of the last days, but it also refers to the peace and rest after resolving all conflicts in daily life.
Yehwa - I want to know from that
There lived a very rich man in a town in America.
One day he defecated a big party and invited his neighbors. Many people gathered.
After a good time together, we decided to hold a swimming competition for the last time.
The owner of the house told the guests.
"Whoever swam first from one end of the pool to the other,
I'll give you a big prize. You can choose one of the three.
First, I will give you the privilege of taking my only daughter, my heir, as my wife.
For the second, I will give you half of my fortune.
Third, I will give you a diamond ring, the most precious jewel in the world that I have."
Everyone in the room heard it and took a stance as if they were going to jump at any moment.
That was the time.
The owner of the house said to the people, "But now, in this pool, you have starved for ten days.
Contains 50 crocodiles.
It also released 100 poisonous snakes that, if bitten, would die within 3 minutes on the spot.
In addition, there are 300 poisonous meats in it.
If it smells blood, it will attack.
It will probably be difficult to exceed five minutes."
Those who heard the sound took one step back from the pool.
No one dared to jump in.
But only one bravely jumped in.
Everyone applauded his courage.
He swam with desperate determination and arrived safely.
The landlord wants to reward him as promised.
I was asked to choose one out of three.
Then, with his face turned white, he said:
"I want to know who pushed me from behind my back."
By any chance, aren't you being forced to be loyal by being pushed back?
2. It is to take the burden off
Calling those who labor and are heavy laden, Jesus said, “I will give you rest.”
Here we can taste the essence of the gospel.
The gospel is different from the law, and it is also different from the invitations of the world.
In Matthew 23:4, Jesus said these things about the scribes and Pharisees who sat in “the seat of Moses.”
“And he tied up heavy loads and laid them on the shoulders of men, and would not move them with one finger.”
This is the character of the law.
The law constantly puts the burden of obligations on it. Again, we are burdened with sin.
People, too, like to put heavy and laborious burdens on others.
As much as possible, I try to pass the burden of hard work and responsibility to others.
As a result, what is the cry of all of us?
Regarding this, Romans 7:24 testifies as follows:
“O wretched man I am, who will deliver me from this body of death”
But don't worry.
Why? Because our Lord has carried our burdens for us.
The Bible testifies about this in John 1:29.
“Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
This is the gospel.
The Lord says to all those who labor and are heavy laden, come to me.
This is an invitation to give you rest and peace.
Anyone who will respond to his invitation will partake of the abundant grace that is freely and freely given.
