Title: Invitation to Happiness (Gospel of Rebirth ②)
(Sunday service on March 4, 2007, Sermon on the Fourfold Gospel, Text: John 3:16)
Let me ask you two questions. Please answer each one seriously.
1. If you die today, are you sure you will enter heaven? This question is not about the distant future. That's what we think of if we die today and immediately.
2. If you are certain that you can go to heaven when you die, for what reason? (Example: A story of a brother we met during the ministry of the personal evangelism training department at Hannam University)
▲ God is our Father.
Yes) Here is the microphone. What is the reason for using this microphone like this? Yes, of course, that's because I bought this mic from a sound equipment vendor. If so, at that store? Yes, I would have bought it from the factory. So, what about that factory? Someone must have made that microphone.
Yes) Then, how were you born into the world today? Yes, of course, my parents gave birth to me. Then, what about your parents? grandpa and grandma So, what about Grandpa and Grandma? If you keep going back this way, someone will be the first human. And, there will be someone who made the first man. The first who the Bible says is God. Genesis 1:1 “God created the heavens and the earth” Genesis 1:26 “God made man in the image of God”
▲ This beautiful family relationship has been destroyed.
▲ There is ‘life’ and ‘happiness’ in Jesus.
However, God is love. God does not want people to live in such suffering and then perish. So he restored his relationship with Heavenly Father again and opened the way for us to live in life and happiness. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. Romans 5:8 “God demonstrates his love for us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Through this death on the cross, all our sins and sufferings were paid for. Isaiah 53:5 “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
Example) What happened in a classroom in the third grade of an elementary school
▲ Become a child of God through ‘faith’.
By admitting and accepting Jesus Christ as ‘my Lord and my God’, we become children of God and receive eternal life. 1) Knowing Jesus (John 17:3) “Eternal life is to know the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent” 2) Belief in Jesus (John 5:42) “Truly, truly, I tell you I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes in him who sent me has eternal life and will not come into judgment, but has crossed over from death to life.”
▲ Now, live the life of a child of God.
Now you are a child of God. Children of God need life and growth like children. 1 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfected, equipped for every good work” 2) The life of prayer, the breath of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:18) “ With all prayers and supplications, praying in the Holy Spirit at all times, being awake for this, always making every effort to ask for the sake of the saints” 3) A life of victory in fighting ‘sin’ (1 John 3:8) “Those who sin are to the devil For the devil sinned from the beginning, because the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil.” 4) Living in the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) “Do not get drunk with wine, for this is debauchery, but being filled with the Holy Spirit. d” 5) Life of the Gospel witness (2 Timothy 4:2) “Preach the word, do your best in season and out of season, rebuke, rebuke and exhort with all patience and teaching”
