Title: Is the unjudgment a joke?

Contents

Is the refusal a joke? (Genesis 19:12-16)

There are three supernatural and terrifying judgments in the Bible. In the days of Noah, the whole world was judged with water, and there was a judgment of fire in Sodom and Gomorrah.

Among them, today we try to remember again that God's judgment of fire is not a joke while examining Lot's family, who received a notice of the judgment of fire in Sodom and Gomorrah.

Keeping in mind that the coming judgment of fire is not a joke, but a fact, like that time, I want to be a saint waiting for the kingdom of God to come. Peter did. 2 Peter 3:12 Look for the day of God and earnestly long for it. One day the heavens will be burned with fire, and the elements will melt with scorching fire, 13 but according to his promise we look to new heavens and new earth, in which righteousness dwells

1. Those who thought God's judgment message was a joke

14 “And Lot went out and told his daughters-in-law, who had been betrothed to him, saying, “The LORD will destroy this city, so get up and leave this place.” But the sons-in-law thought it a joke.

The angel of God disguised himself as a stranger and foreshadowed the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah to Lot. The Hebrew word for joking is qj'x; which means to laugh with great ridicule (17:17, 39:17).

How could he not have trusted Lot enough to listen to his father-in-law and take what he said as a joke? I mean how much personal he had no faith in him, so he thought it was funny.

Lot (f/l , Lot) was the son of Abraham's brother Haran, who was Abraham's nephew. He followed his uncle Abraham to the land of Canaan from Ur of Chaldea, where he lived with his family, through Haran. . The road that followed my uncle was a blessing, and I had a lot of livestock. But there was a quarrel between his uncle and his shepherds (Gen. 13:). So

decided to live separately.

At this time, when his uncle had an opportunity to tell his nephew Lot to choose a place to go first, he saw Sodom. Gomorrah seemed to be the best area because it had not yet been judged. person.

Genesis 13:9 “Is not the whole earth before you? Leave me, if you are left, I will be right; if you are right, I will be left.

10 So Lot lifted up his eyes and looked at the Jordan, and there was plenty of water in all the land as far as Zoar, and it was like the garden of the LORD, and it was like the land of Egypt, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.

It was not the son-in-law's fault that they took Lot's words as a joke. Looking at his life's journey, Lot was a man who was blessed with Abraham's prayers and invitations. His faith was initially lived as a follower of faith, but later, when he expressed his will by faith, his true nature was revealed, and in the end he was destroyed because he lacked spiritual judgment.

Today, like Lot, there are many people who go to church according to other people's beliefs. However, if there is a religious conflict that one has to take, he does not have the ability to judge what to do. Perhaps like Lot, they may choose Sodom and Gomorrah as the values of secularism.

The important thing is that such inspiration will eventually lead to loss of personal trust from family and society. Even today, countless people who are going to secularism and worldly glory do not know how many people have lost their trust in politics, economy, society, and the arts.

You may even hear unspeakable swear words. No matter how much the National Assembly has been cursed, the first graders of elementary school say, 'Eight! You are like a member of the National Assembly!' How much trust had fallen to the ground before such a word would arise.

Lot is a symbol of a dishonest life without faith. No matter what the saints do, God is with them and they must do it as if they were doing it to God. Only then can you become a person with an honest impression who can gain trust in society as well.

Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as to the Lord, and not to men.” The citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah, where Lot lived, were corrupt people, and even Lot, who heard the news of God’s judgment of God’s judgment, had taken a liking to God’s warning. It's a human being. So it must have been the proud listeners, and it was taken as a joke.

16 “But when Lot was delayed, the men took Lot’s hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, and led them outside the city, because the Lord had been kind to him.”

Lot's delay is regretful about their material possessions, their glory, and their place of life. With that spirit, they informed their children of God's judgment, so it can only be regarded as a joke.

The 21st century, the age of science and material culture, is stupid about God's judgment. I take it as a joke. My heart's ears are dark and I can't hear it seriously. The spirit of secularism has so darkened the soul. This is an age in which many people will suffer unhappy salvation or destruction according to Lot's situation.

2. Non-judgment is serious

The area where Sodom and Gomorrah existed was then rained with brimstone fire from heaven and became the Dead Sea.

24 “And the LORD rained brimstone and fire from heaven, the LORD, on Sodom and Gomorrah, 25 and overthrew its cities and all the fields, and all the people who lived in them, and all that was on the land. 26 Lot's wife turned and turned back. Because they saw it, it became a pillar of salt.” What do we think of the legendary judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah? is to do The important thing is that it is prophesied that the whole world will be judged by fire at the end of the world. But seriously.

Is the Bible a joke?

Jesus is a real person in history. In the Bible, there are over 300 verses in the New Testament that Jesus is coming back, and more than 400 verses about judgment. Is it a joke about the history of the church that has been passed down for 2,000 years and lives with conviction?

The Bible always uses the water judgments of Noah's time and the fire judgments of Sodom and Gomorrah as a type when delivering the prophecy of God's judgment of the world with fire in the last days.

2 Peter 2:5 “For he did not forgive the old world, but preserved Noah and his seven people, a preacher of righteousness, and brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; He set a model for those who would not be devout.” God’s Bible is all true, and even if this global village is left alone, it is said that the global village is already ready to melt more than 50 times even with the tools of war made by humans themselves.

In God's judgment of fire, rain of sulfur and fire will come down from heaven, and when the earth melts in the fire, the gunpowder of war preparations will explode, and the world will become a sea of fire.

Luke 17:28 “And it will be as in the days of Lot, when people eat and drink, buy and sell, plant and build, 29 and on the day Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them. I will do it”

During the Japanese occupation, the servants of prayer received a notice of Japanese non-judgment and delivered it to the Japanese National Assembly. But I thought it was a joke. Finally, the man-made atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, and Japan surrendered unconditionally. It wasn't a joke.

In fact, the IMF of Korea, as well as eminent American economists, had already foretold Korea's economic crisis, but thought it was a joke because they had no ears to understand, and ended up facing an economic crisis without any measures. It wasn't a joke.

3. There is a way to avoid unjudgment

15 “At dawn the angel urged Lot, saying, Arise, and take your wife and your two daughters here, lest they perish together in the iniquity of this city. He took the man by the hand and brought him outside the city, because the LORD had been kind to him.”

Although Lot was not worthy of salvation wherever he looked, he was saved through his uncle's prayer. That salvation was a shameful salvation. His wife ran away and warned him not to look back, but when he looked back, he became a pillar of salt.

It is presumed that Lot's wife was probably more religious than Lot. He was inferior to his sons-in-law and less than his daughters. The world was full of burning riches and doubts, and as he looked around, he thought it might be the case, but he ended up being abandoned.

We live in the last days where the judgment of fire is foretold. Many biblical scholars view today's age as the end of the last days, unlike in the past. Because there is no place in the world that is not full of sin and injustice, global warming and changes in the heavenly bodies. It is an unpredictable world situation.

God gave Lot an ultimatum.

Leave Sodom! is that The words of warning are continuing even for us believers who are living in a world of sin in the last days.

Revelation 18:4 "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of there, my people, and do not share in her sins, and do not receive from her plagues."

Lot can see selfishness, pragmatism, and even opportunism. He was not a very good person. However, when the New Testament evaluates him, he is justified. However, it is only the love of God who showed mercy through the intercession of Abraham.

2 Peter 2:6 “And he appointed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to be destroyed, and turned them to ashes, setting them as an example for those who will come afterward to be ungodly, 7 and delivering righteous Lot from suffering because of the immoral conduct of lawless men, 8 (the righteous and dwelt in the midst of it, and day by day seeing and hearing of his unlawful deeds, breaking his righteous spirit.”

It is possible for us to be justified when we have received Jesus in our hearts. Although we are not enough in the world, the God of judgment calls us righteous. That was the case with Lot. Nevertheless, he had no will to leave.

We must understand the times we are in today. Matthew 16:3 If the sky is red and cloudy in the morning, they say it will be a bad day today. You know how to discern heavenly spirits, but can you not discern the signs of the times?

Today's times are truly tense last days. It's just that our emotions are dulled.

Matthew 3:10 “The ax is already at the root of the trees; every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

Two thousand years ago, John the Baptist was calling for repentance of sins and referring to the condition of the soul. Then it is clear that we are living in an even more dangerous world today.

2 Peter 3:7 “Now by the same word the heavens and the earth were kept for fire, reserved for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.”

2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and in that day the heavens will depart with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and all that is in it will be revealed. 11 In this way all these things will be dissolved. Do we ought to be human? With holy deeds and reverence, 12 Look forward to the coming of the day of God and long for it. On that day the heavens will be burned and dissolved, and the elements will be melted with scorching fire. I look to new heavens and new earth.”

We saw the family of Lot, Abraham's nephew, who lived in Sodom and Gomorrah today. It was a case in which God's notice of judgment was taken as a joke and was disappointed.

In this humanistic age in which we live today, the fact that the church that knows the will of heaven while trembling over material and culture has fallen into the materialist values is a phenomenon of the last days

The ideal that we are looking at is the perfect and unhungry Shincheonshinji Kingdom of God. In order to plant the gospel on this earth, we must plant and testify of various necessary things, but one thing is for sure that there will be judgment.
