Title: Isaiah's Christmas Message (Isaiah 9:1-7)
[Isaiah 9:1 - 7]
[1] ♠There will be no darkness for those who have suffered in the past. In the past the LORD made the land of Zebulun and Naphtali despised, but later he glorified the seaside road and Galilee in the Gentiles beyond the Jordan. The people see a great light, and a light shines on those who dwell in the land of the shadow of death [3] ♠ The Lord has made this nation multiply and increased its joy; [4] They rejoice in the presence of the Lord, [4] because they broke their heavy yoke, and the whip on their shoulders, and the rod of their oppressor, as in the days of Midian. [6] ♠ For to us a child has been born, and a son is given us, and government is upon his shoulders, and his name is Wonderful, Counselor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father. [7] His government and peace will never cease, and he will sit on David's throne and establish his kingdom, and he will preserve it with justice and justice for ever after his throne. will do it
Hymn 112 In that clear and bright night
Verses 1 and 2 of today's text read, "There will be no darkness for those who were afflicted. In the past the LORD made the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali despised, but later he glorified the seaside road and Galilee in the Gentiles beyond the Jordan. 2 Darkness The people who walked in the world saw a great light, and a light shines on those who dwell in the land of the shadow of death." This is directly quoted in Matthew 4:12-16. After being tested in the wilderness, he went to the land of Zebulun and Naphtali and began his ministry. It is quoted as saying that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled. Zebulun was the name of the sixth son of Leah. It means residence, and it means that now my husband will be with me. The name Naphtali is the second son born to Bilhah, the maidservant of Rachel, Jacob's wife.
Zebulun and Naphtali are the representative names of the northern regions. God has made this earth to be despised and put to shame. In other words, it was invaded by Assyria and completely destroyed. You gave me a number. God caused the Israelites to repent and return. However, we do not know how much the Israelites at that time betrayed God and served foreign gods. According to the covenant he made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, He saved us and gave us grace through the prophets every time. However, the Israelites have always lived in disobedience to God. The Lord who struck and beaten and brought salvation. He gave the word of restoration to northern Israel and southern Judah. This is verses 3-4. “You have multiplied the kingdom and increased its joy, so that they rejoice before you as in the harvest and in the joy of sharing the spoil, because you have broken their heavy yoke, and the whip on their shoulders, and the rod of their oppressor. It was as in the days of Midian.” The prophet Isaiah prophesied that a great light will now shine on the land and restoration will be accomplished.
The source of restoration was possible because a child was born in verses 6-7. “For to us a child is born, and a son is given to us, with the government on his shoulders, and his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. And he will sit on David's throne and establish his kingdom, and he will preserve it with fairness and justice from the beginning of time to eternity. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this." Why did they live in darkness? Their iniquity is so prevalent that they are shrewd and despised. However, in an instant, I saw a great light, and recovery took place, which was made possible by the birth of a child.
We now know well that the words of this text were the words of revelation. However, the Israelites at that time did not know this fact. God comforted them by saying that He would give them a sign and telling them not to be afraid. Nevertheless, the Israelites did not believe in God. But God allowed Emmanuel's grace. He is saying that God is with us. He tells you to believe all these things.
Today we need faith. Even if there is darkness and pain, even if there is shame and contempt, you must believe that all things will be changed and all things will be resolved through the birth of a low-level child. He is all solutions we have. Listen and believe in the Son of God!" This should be our belief. We should all celebrate and celebrate the birth of a child this season. Once again reassurance that He is the eternal God who rules over us. We must pray We must preach the gospel of the word of salvation to unbelievers and those who are weak in faith We must share the gift of faith We hope that you experience God Emmanuel God has given us a child He is saying that we have lost, and we must accept it with thanksgiving and faith.
