Title: It Will Be As He Did

Contents

Ezekiel 18:1-18 / It will be according to what he has done.

* The Israelites who were taken captive to Babylon

& The reason they were dragged and suffered like this is because of the sins of their ancestors

& lamented the situation.

- However, today God / blames our ancestors in this way - to those who do not consider their sins.

& He says / that anyone will only die for his sins.

* Through today's text / What kind of God is... What are the lessons he gives me...

& Let's think about a few things.

1. Verse 2

* What does the proverb say, “The father ate sour grapes, and his son’s teeth were set on fire”?

& because of the father's sin - the son pays for that sin... // That's it.

** At the time of Ezekiel / the Israelites who were taken into captivity - or the people living in Jerusalem

& most people - this pain they suffer

& thought it was the price of the sins of their ancestors.

<- Of course, according to the Bible... / If parents do well, their descendants will bless thousands of generations...

& There is a saying that if parents make a mistake, they curse up to three generations.>

* But, what does God want... / Through such suffering and judgment...?

& Realizing their sins - because they really wanted to confess / repent.

- But / they have to look at their sins and faults...

& I'm [blaming my ancestors] for everything /.

& shifting responsibility.

<Apply> Dear friends!

- Before blaming others / and shifting the blame to others... // & you have to look after yourself.

- Even if it's the person's fault - I need / to look back on myself first.

* Or are you blaming others / not?

- Am I/are I shifting my responsibility to someone else?

2. To the people of Israel who are blaming their ancestors / What does God say?

Verse 3-4

- “In the future, these proverbs / will never be mentioned again” / declares.

& this is nonsense.

- and the soul of the father / and the soul of his son - alike belonging to God

& I will treat you fairly - he says.

* Dear friends!

- Our God is a just God.

- God said the father was wrong

& He who disciplines / curses his son - not.

- When the father did well - God is patient with his descendants, and there are some blessings.

& Because of his father - he never made his child wrong - never.

** His father, because he is his child -- he judges / disciplines...

& unlike his father

& If the child is righteous / and wants to live according to the Word... // He was patient and blessed.

* So / “For the sins of my ancestors - I am cursed!”

& What are you making excuses for? - It is blasphemy against God's love and God's fairness.

* These days [Curse flowing through the household!] - People talk about this a lot...

& It is God's punishment, not a curse, given to me because of the sins of our ancestors.

- That's what the devil does. / (It's not God's work)

- "The thief comes only to steal / kill and destroy - I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly"

* God's will is life / abundance.

- God's will is never a curse.

- That's the dirty devil's work.

** That's why // such filthy deeds of the devil

& in the name of Jesus Christ, who has already been victorious on the cross

& with the power of the Blood - by declaring such a filthy influence to be void -

* God is fair. / God is love.

3. Next / to explain the principle of God's judgment - three examples are given.

1) From verses 5 to 9 / What happens when a righteous person continues to practice righteousness...

2) From verses 10 to 13 / What happens to the evil son of a righteous father...

3) Verses 14~18 / What happens to the righteous son of an evil father...

& speaking.

Let's read only verses 17 and 18.

* What is it after all?

- As you do - it will be.

- if you act righteously - whatever your father... you will live

& if he does evil - even if his father is righteous - he will die for his iniquity.

** As you sow / As you sow... - You will reap.

* As I meditated here, I personally regret it

& Under a Righteous Father - What Happens to a Righteous Son...

& I wish I could have said that - I think so.

- Wouldn't this bring great blessings?!

* Dear friends!

- Today your family is / by a righteous father - by being a righteous son.

& God’s blessings come in double

& May you have such grace - I bless you in the name of the Lord.
