Title: Jabez is a noble man

Contents

Bible Text: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

Jabez is a noble

Lincoln's biographer wrote: “God did not give Lincoln any conditions to be great. He only gave him a mother who was poor but had good faith.” Lincoln later said, "If I have succeeded, it is because of my angelic mother." The mother instilled faith and dreams in her son. He often told stories from the Bible and sang hymns. Lincoln recalled his mother, saying, “The most impressive thing my mother drew on my heart was the story of the Ten Commandments that God gave to Moses, and she said that it was never erased.

In Chronicles 1 to 9, only the names of people appear. Jabez is like an apple tree in the forest. “Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother named him Jabez, because it was because I bore him in pain” (verse 9). What made Jabez honorable?

He asked God to bless him.

“Jabez called to the God of Israel, and said, “I pray that the Lord has blessed me with blessings.” He was honored through prayer.

“...you do not have because you do not ask, and you ask and do not receive because you ask erroneously, to spend it on lust” (James 4:2-3).

The prayer of Jabez was not selfish or ups and downs. Because God would not have allowed it if it was wrong to use it for lust.

The reason that God allowed it was because it was a prayer that was in accordance with God's will. The way to become a noble person is through prayer. A person who prays is more honorable than a brother who does not pray.

“He who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). Ask God to bless you.

“What am I like!” Are there times when you feel discouraged and embarrassed by yourself? Get down and pray. “How am I?” will do. That is the mystery of prayer.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened… for everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8)

Prayer elevates a person. Thinking grows bigger and raises your ideals. It builds self-esteem and builds self-confidence. Prayer makes people honorable. Prayer raises a person's standards. It is enough to pray. It is Israel that Jacob obtained by asking God for blessing. They held onto him and stretched out saying that he would not let him go if he did not bless him.

Prayer has wings that make it rise high. Prayer has strong feet and makes you run far away. If you pray, you will be able to move the world and control the environment. Please do not ask for cheap grace, but for God's blessing. It is God's blessing that everything rolls in if you have it.

“Therefore, seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you also” (Matthew 6:33). Jabez was originally unmatched by his brothers, but he became more noble than his brothers through prayer. I hope that you will be honored through prayer and become a saint who is respected by people who are honored by God.

He was an expander.

He had a dream. There was a holy grievance. I have things I want to have, and I have dreams that I want to achieve. It is his dreams and visions that honor a person.

“Blessed be your blessings, so that my borders are enlarged.” This is Jabez's prayer and the driving force that made him honorable. How do you survive in a given environment? Are you expanding beyond your limits? It is entirely up to him.

“Whatever you decide, it will be done, and light will shine on your path” (Job 22:28). The characteristic of fools is that they cannot make decisions. Years pass by as I struggle to see if this or that.

After Abram decided to leave his hometown, “The Lord said to Abram, Lift up your eyes from where you are, and look to the east, west, north, south, and east, and I will give to you and to your descendants the land you see, to you and to your descendants forever” (Genesis 13:14-15).

What made Abram into Abraham was that he had a vision that went beyond his own limits.

“Arise, go through the land in length and breadth, and I will give it to you. So Abram moved his tent and came to live in the oaks of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and there he built an altar to the Lord” (Genesis 13:17-18).

He moved the veil. He left his hometown to expand his territory and headed for Canaan.

President Kim Dae-jung, who is likened to “Indongcho,” was born on an island and overcame countless waves of hardship and death to become president and a Nobel laureate. It was a dream that made him honorable.

I am responsible for my life. Self-esteem and confidence arise from the belief that God is with me. “Enlarge the place of your tent, do not spare the curtain of your dwelling place, but spread it out wide; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. For you will spread from side to side, and your descendants will gain the nations, and the desolate cities will become inhabited” (Isaiah 54:2-3). It means crossing boundaries. It was the positive thinking out of faith that made Jabez honorable.

There was a king who was about to die. They had to decide who to inherit their country and property to. The king called his children and said, "If anyone brings anything that can fill this room, I will make him heir." The eldest son stole his savings account and bought a bunch of diamonds. The second son filled the room with sand. The youngest daughter came in with a candle in her hand. I turned off all the lights in the room and lit a candlestick. The candle filled the room with light. The father said to the daughter, “You are the timber to rule my kingdom.” The youngest daughter inherited the kingship.

Expanding your horizons is a vision. It is a passion for making dreams come true. It is the courage to transcend boundaries. If you have a dream and have faith, you can turn a bad environment into a good one. I hope you will expand your horizons and become a noble person.

He was the one who came out of trouble.

Tribulation is a pressing pressure. Tribulation is called “dripsis” in Greek. Dripsis refers to placing a heavy object on the chest and crushing it to death. In ancient England, it is said that a “dripsis” was practiced when a prisoner did not confess. A heavy object was placed on the chest and forced to confess under pressure. You cannot become a noble person without overcoming tribulation.

“Help me with your hand, so that I may come out of trouble, so that I may not be troubled.” But God granted him his request.” Jabez was freed from “Dripsis” tribulation through prayer. As Paul and Silas prayed and sang, the prison door was opened and they were freed from bondage.

Faith is the liberation of oneself by faith. Do not be defeated by tribulation. to escape from the place of death. It means that God has saved us from tribulation. What could be more pitiful than this when precious time is spent under the pressure of tribulation?

As John Wesley said, “Many people have only a faith that is just enough to make them uneasy.” David cried out in trouble, “O God... Awake, my glory, awake, lyre, harp, I will wake up the dawn!” (Psalm 57:7-8) He looked at himself in trouble and proclaimed to escape. will be

Columbus, who discovered the Americas, was sitting calmly reading the Bible as storms rose and food ran out. A colleague said, “Aren’t you nervous?” When asked, he replied, “When I set sail, I did not rely on a compass or a ship, but on the God who rules the universe. I am now reading the book of Isaiah to energize my heart.”

“Awake, awake, Zion, put on your strength! O holy city Jerusalem, put on your beautiful garments, and shake off the dust! Rise and sit down, Jerusalem; loose yourselves, O daughter of captivity, Zion!” (Isaiah 52:1-2)

A chameleon has a tongue that is only half the length of its own body. It pulls out its tongue to hunt for prey. My tongue can build up my body and my tongue can destroy my life.

Please declare this.

“Our souls are like birds that have escaped from the hunter's snare; for the snare is broken, and we have escaped” (Psalm 124:7)

“Jabez was more honorable than his brothers.” It means that you are of a higher standard than your brothers. A respected person does not strive to be respected, but does what he deserves. No one who wants to be respected without worthy of respect recognizes him. It's good when a woman is beautiful. But it's better if you're wise. But it is better to be respected. Honor comes from God. If God honors you, you will be honored.

“God has chosen the lowly and despised things of the world, and the things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no flesh may boast before God” (1 Corinthians 1:28-29).

If you ask God for blessings, you will be honored. May all of you broaden your horizons and be honored with a life free from tribulation.
