Title: Jacob's Worship (Genesis 28:10-22)
Contents In order for our worship to become a worship experience experienced with God, we will start with the importance of the worshiper, who is the worshiper above all else.
If we know that God is unchanging and He loves all of us, then the difference between individuals who experience that love is our own problem. We will discover the confession of faith contained in the worship by looking at the scene where Jacob worshiped God for the first time. In order to understand the mystery of God through the text, we will need to trace Jacob's past first. Jacob's grandfather was Abraham, and Jacob's father was Isaac. Therefore, it must be said that Jacob was accustomed to the life of worshiping God from an early age.
In the meantime, Jacob joins hands with his mother Rebekah, deceives his father Isaac and his brother Esau, and seizes the blessing of the firstborn in order to fulfill God's promise of the firstborn. Esau, who was angry with this, wanted to kill Jacob, and left his family and hometown to escape his brother's anger, and was now on his first trip to the house of his maternal uncle Laban. While he was homeless, exhausted and exhausted, he had the experience of meeting God. That is today's text.
1. The moment Jacob experienced God (Genesis 28:12-15)
2. Jacob's Worship (Genesis 28:16-22)
Although Jacob experiences God, he does not have perfect faith. He hadn't yet realized how God's experience was applied to his life. So he confesses his conditional devotion. Jacob's values, who lived in a thoroughly human and rational way of thinking, were not completely changed, and his religious attitude eventually led to the appearance of a humble old man who confessed that he had lived a difficult life right in front of him. However, today's text is the first worship service of Jacob who experienced God, so we discover the value of faith.
