with mature faith
Couples want each other, parents have their children, teachers have their students, the people want the president, the president wants the people, the pastor wants the saints, the saints want the pastor Likewise, there are things that God wants from us. What is it? It is a mature faith in a mature faith. It is not a childish faith, but a mature believer who can eat and digest solid plants. So, what should we do to “go forward with mature faith”?
Each person should display the same diligence.
Verse 11 says, “What we desperately want is that each show the same diligence.”
There are very strong sports in Korea. Among them, archery is the strongest in the world, and then short trekking is very strong.
『Diligence』, that is, faith matures only when there is passion and zeal. And when you are diligent in God's work, you can glorify God. It doesn't make sense that believers grow in faith even if they are not diligent, and if they are not diligent, they cannot do God's work, and they do not bring glory to God. Why? Faith without works is dead faith, and works without faith are sin (Romans 14:23). Therefore, you must diligently listen to the Word for your own faith. must read. have to learn
You must be diligent in everything. To receive grace must be diligent, and to receive blessings from diligent people. What God wants of us is diligence. God hates being lazy. That is why the psalmist is expressing that God neither slumbers nor sleeps. Jesus said, “God works, and I work.”
We must strive to reach the fullness of hope until the very end.
At the end of verse 11, we see in verse 12 that faith and long-suffering are prerequisites in order to achieve the abundance of hope. A saint can reach the abundance of hope when he is truly armed with faith and long.
What we want and desire does not come true automatically, but only when we have faith, our wishes come true, and only when we endure for a long time, these wishes come true.
While we are living our faith life, we are constantly faced with trials/tribulations/tribes. At this time, believers who have faith endure for a long time.
Those who have a sure hope for the kingdom of heaven will not be shaken in the slightest by any tribulation or temptation. “Until the end, to the fullness of hope”, “to the end” means until the Second Coming of Jesus. We must not lose hope until the Second Coming of the Lord. You must have the hope that you will not be defeated even if you are surrounded by strife.
Joo-Young Jeong was born into a poor family and worked hard at the wharf. I admire his diligence, which always sets goals and pushes them with tenacity. It was one day. While I was working at the farmhouse, I lay down in the room where the workers were sleeping. I couldn't sleep at all because of the bedbugs. He thought of a way to sleep. We studied how to prevent bedbugs from coming. A brilliant idea came to mind. The bed was placed in the middle of the room and the 4 legs of the bed were filled with water so that the bed was in the middle of the water.
Now, I went to sleep, convinced that the bedbugs could not invade me. But the bedbugs were biting again. When I looked closely at how the bedbugs got in, the bedbugs were unable to climb on the legs of the bed because of the water, so they climbed up to the ceiling and fell straight from the ceiling to the bed, sucking blood. Seeing this, Joo-Young Jung made up her mind that she would never give up. Those who do not give up until the end and have hope will surely be fulfilled.
We need to imitate our predecessors.
Verse 12---so that we may become imitators of those who inherit the promises.” It means to imitate the seniors who have already left this world and are enjoying eternal life in heaven. So, what should we imitate the seniors?
First, we must imitate our faith.
What God requires of us is faith. That is why the writer of Hebrews said, “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
There are countless seniors who can imitate our faith not only in our country but also around the world.
The orphan's father, George Mueller, had no breakfast to feed the orphans. All the staff were at a loss for what to do. But Mueller, as always, took the orphans by the hand and went into the dining room. I wonder what kind of meal God has prepared for us today!” When I entered the restaurant, only empty plates and empty cups were lined up. Many of the orphans were staring at Mueller's face as if it were outrageous. But Mueller asked God to give thanks. “Lord! Thank you for trusting that you will give us our daily bread today.”
When I woke up after praying, the door to the restaurant opened. An uncle from a neighboring bakery came in. “I was going to sleep last night, but I kept baking bread since I woke up at two in the morning because it seemed like there would be no breakfast in this orphanage.” A little later, the door opened. The milk delivery man came in and said, "The milk delivery car broke down in front of this orphanage's front door. I have to put down all the milk, but it's an orphanage, so I want to give it all away. Would you like to come out and help?”
We must imitate George Muller's prayer of faith. God is pleased with people of faith.
Second, we must imitate patience.
God is pleased with those who are patient. Jesus was patient and obeyed the word of God until he died on the cross without leaving a drop of blood. Peter tells us that God is also long-suffering. "The Lord's promise is not slow, as some consider slowness, but is patient with you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9).
Therefore, believers who resemble God and imitate Jesus must be patient for a long time.
