Title: Jehovah Is My Power
Contents
Psalm 118:14-29 / Yahweh is my strength
* Today's psalmist - in the day of trouble
& thank God for answering his prayers / and giving them salvation
- Also, praise God for showing the miracle of becoming the stone that the builders rejected /
& go to the house of God with joy - we exalt the name of the Lord
* Through today's text / What kind of God is... What are the lessons he gives me...
& Let's think about a few things.
1. Verse 14
* Who is God?
- God is my strength.
- And, you are my hymn / and you are my salvation.
* Dear friends!
- When do we experience - God is my strength / salvation?
- Actually, when I'm at peace / when everything goes well
& God helped me with his power - I feel it's going well / I'm not feeling it.
<Despite God's ability / I'm smart, I'm good - I think I'm doing well >
- But / when I am weak / when I am in trouble...
& The Lord is my strength and strength / and my salvation - because I am experiencing it.
* Famous British Pastor Spurgeon - Already in his forties
& wind blows in the bones So - I suffered terribly from [gout].
- Sometimes it's a Sunday. - It's really painful / painful...
& It was said that there were many times when it was painful to the point of not having the strength to stand on the pulpit.
- But / every time... With the feeling of “Today’s sermon is the last one”
& I stand on the pulpit with all my strength and preach the word...//
& Where does that power suddenly spring from?
& “God gave me refreshment and power” - I proclaimed the Word powerfully.
* Dear friends!
- Do I have any difficulties or pain these days?
- Are you weak these days in health or in many ways?
** This is / the opportunity to experience God's power and God's salvation - most powerfully.
- The power of God / is with me today.
- God's hand of salvation / holds me up.
- With this faith / Victory today - Your holy soldiers!! - I wish you all the best.
2. Verses 15-16
* What is the tent of the righteous?
- The tabernacle of the righteous = also refers to the temple...
& Again, the home of our saints! This is the tent of the righteous.
& the body church - the tent of the righteous.
** But what kind of sound is there?
- “There is a voice of joy, there is a voice of salvation!!”
* I bless you today.
- May your home be filled with “sounds of joy” - I bless you in the name of the Lord.
- May your home be filled with “the sound of salvation - the hymn of salvation.” - I bless you.
<At home - anyway.. Sing a lot of hymns>
** But how / are the tents of the righteous full of these sounds?
- (Although you can't see it) Always there / because the hand of our God's power is with you.
* If you look at the top of the Ark of the Holy of Holies - you see two seraphs - with their wings spread out - covering the Ark, right?
- And, in the space in between - The glorious presence of God = The glory of Shekinah.
** Same.
- God has stretched out his arms of power today - He is embracing our family today.
- God stretches out his arms of power - Covers our church.
- That's when / the presence of God appears - and amazing things happen.
* I hope / that your eyes will be opened today = the grace to see the arm of the Lord
* May the grace of being embraced in the great arms of the Lord - I hope.
* In winter / Are there many places where the road is slippery?
- If you think about when our Seojin or Chanmi were young...
& At first, he just walks alone.
- But / I keep slipping on the road as I go.
- Then / at first - "The road is slippery - go with caution!!" That's right.
- Even so, / I'm a child, so I keep slipping
** So what?
- At that time, I, the father, will hold hands.
- So, if the child slips on the road again... / At that time, the power of the father's hands is tight.
- When you're about to slide, / Dad gives your hand - if you hold it tight - it won't slide.
* Dear friends!
- Please believe that our God is holding my hand.
- Then / even if I go through a slippery icy road
& God gives strength to my hands - so I don't slip and fall - and hold me tight.
3. If you look at just one more verse... // (The verse that touches my heart) Verses 22-23!!
* The stone that the builders rejected - became the cornerstone of the house.
<- If you look at this in the New Testament... // It is quoted as a word that typifies Jesus.>
* Everyone! / What does it mean that the stone that the builders had left useless - & became the headstone of the house?
- That's right, the most useless - the most important! / Isn't it?
- what? = This is the grace of reversal. “God’s Grace That Turns Over”
* Today, I pray that this grace of reversal / may appear in your family and life.
- If God is with you - it can be reversed.
<Application> * Who needs the grace of reversal today / Where is the grace of reversal?
- Is this your child? - Are you your husband? - Is this your business?
** Asking God to reverse it /
& So, I bless you in the name of the Lord that you may become such / filled with the testimony of answers and thanksgiving
