Title: Jehovah Is Righteous
(Lamentations 1:12-22)
It is not Babylon that will suffer in Judah and Jerusalem. It is God who caused this suffering. God is righteous. Because God is righteous, he cannot neglect the sins of his people.

1. God's wrath is a terrifying reality (12-17)
For whom and for what did Jeremiah weep? (Verse 16) Do I also burn my heart for those who are weak in faith or who are not upright?
I ask for help and beg, but there is no one to comfort me. The allies pretended to be helpful friends when Jerusalem was strong, but it turned out to be a trick. Aren't I also asking for help in vain places? (verses 17, 19)
2. God's judgment is righteous (verses 18-20)
Because the people of Judah were disobedient and rebellious. Even knowing God's commands, He does not forgive them for disobeying them.
Am I not blaming someone else for my calamity? (verse 18)
3. Prayer for God's mercy and judgment (verses 20-22)
The difference between believers and unbelievers is that they cry out and ask for God's mercy during tribulation. Do you pray for mercy from God? (verse 20)
Jeremiah pleads for judgment on the enemies who rejoice over the destruction of Jerusalem. This prayer is not simply a prayer for revenge. They are praying for judgment on Satan, the enemy of the kingdom of God. Are you perhaps praying for personal revenge? (verses 21-22)
Lord! I will not ask for help in vain, but from a just God.
