Title: Jehovah Nissi!! Jehovah is my banner
Bible: Exodus 17:8-16
Starting Point of the Word>>
This time, “Jehovah Nissi! We would like to share the grace with you through the words of the title “The Lord is my banner.”
The word “Jehovah Nissi” in today’s Word means “Jehovah is my banner,” meaning the God who gives us victory.
According to the words of the text, the nation of Israel had a battle in the wilderness with a tribe called Amalek at Rephidim.
In this battle, Israel was victorious with God's help.
So Moses said in verse 15,
“Moses built an altar and called its names Yeongho and Nissi.”
As the saying goes, right after winning the war, we build an altar to God and worship Him, and we praise God for being our banner and say “Jehovah Nissi”.
As we have heard many times, Israel is not in a position to win the war today.
When they originally came out of Egypt, they were not a nation trained as soldiers, but a people who were barely prolonging their lives by living like slaves.
That is, the Israelites were able to win the battle against Amalek.
Israel was able to fight and win in front of another obstacle called the wilderness.
The reason Moses built an altar, worshiped, and praised God as Jehovah Nissi was because he knew the situation of Israel too well.
In other words, Israel cannot win without God's help.
As the God of Jehovah Nissi is with this Moses and Israel today, I hope that the Lord, the God of Nissi, adds victory to the lives of all the saints every day.

So, when does God become Jehovah Nissi to us?
First, when we are not resentful, uncomfortable, or conceited, God becomes our banner.
Looking at the first half of the text, the Israelites lived while forgetting God's grace.
They ate manna and quail, but they did not thank God and complained about the lack of water.
Today, Amalek has been attacking Israel when they grumble and complain, when they are proud of themselves, and when they share negative thoughts with each other.
Even now, Satan like the Amalekites has no gratitude and is making a nest in the hearts of those who complain.
Today, Amalek came to Rephidim while God's people were on a arduous march in the wilderness, drank living water, and attacked while they were defenseless.
Even today, we saints need to realize that Satan attacks us when we grumble, complain, or boast that we don't have enough.
Therefore, I ask you in the name of the Lord to believe that God will become our banner when we become believers who do not have grudges and complaints, who are not proud of themselves and who are always ready to respond to the Lord's call.
Second, God becomes our banner when we pray.
Absolute obedience means absolute victory.
When Moses gave Joshua a command from God, Joshua carried it out without delay.
Such a successful life begins with absolute obedience.
That is the life of success, the life of victory.
Therefore, victory is not in extroverts and worldliness.
How much did you obey God's Word as the measure of believers in Jesus?
And the criterion of victory is how much you please Jesus, who took up the cross to save us.
But today, Moses commands Joshua to fight the Amalekites, and he goes up to the top of the mountain with his staff and raises his hands to pray.
But what is surprising is that when Moses' hand goes up, he wins, and when Moses' hand goes down, he loses.
This means that prayer is the secret of victory.
Raising your arms is a prayer for fellowship with God and about your circumstances and circumstances.
God confirmed the answer to that prayer so that we could see it with our own eyes.
If you look at the history of Israel, there were many wars, but if you prayed and entrusted it to God, you could experience the grace of God to win.
Conversely, we know from the Bible that if we depend on ourselves and rely on our own strength, we will absolutely lose the war.
For example,
When Joshua led Israel into the land of Canaan, the first city that stood in their way was Jericho.
But instead of relying on their own strength, they prayed and surrendered everything to God.
God answered their prayers, and they could experience victory by walking around the castle without fighting.
But the problem was the second adult child last name.
It was a small castle.
At that time, pride began to arise in the people of Israel, and without praying to God, they went up to the city to fight.
The result was a devastating defeat for Israel.
In this way, the way God's people can win the battle is through prayer.
If satanic forces like Amalek are threatening the lives of the saints today and are making it difficult, I pray in the name of the Lord that today will be a saved time to be resolved by praying to God like Moses.
Third, God becomes our banner when we work together.
Today, when Moses, Aaron, Hur, Joshua, and all the people united with one mind, we were able to win the war and give glory to God.
According to Matthew 18:20,
“Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them.”
You said.
Looking at the words of the text, when Moses' arms were tired, Aaron and Hur supported them, demonstrating the importance of continuous prayer and harmony.
As saints, we must also pray with a sense of community.
We must also offer continuous and united prayer.
Then God will help us.
Even for believers these days, living in an age when selfishness is oblivious, I think that only I can receive grace, and I think that only I can receive blessings.
However, as the saying goes that we work together for good, we must become one through the grace of Christ and work together to experience God's wonderful grace.
It is said that the strength of this unity is a very important factor among the factors that enabled Israel to win today.
Even at church, I have to think that I am a little hard, I am tired.
So when we give for each other, encourage each other, and lift each other up, God will be our banner for all.
At the end of the speech>>
Organize your words.
Like Israel today, we are living with countless Amalekites.
But the important thing is that even if this Amalek is set before us, God, who is our banner, is with us.
God helps and protects us so that God's people can overcome the problems of life before them by faith and go out.
All we need to do is to believe and obey God.
Today, I pray in the name of the Lord that today will not be a difficult life due to the problems before us, but a precious and blessed day to be victorious by praising Jehovah Nissi.
