Title: Jehovah Who Fulfills / Joshua 21:43-45
Jehovah Fulfilling Content / Joshua 21:43-45
Key Verse: “And all the good things which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel came to pass, leaving no residue” (verse 45).
Word: If you look at verses 43 to 45 of the text, the word meaning “the Lord has done” appears repeatedly over and over again. It says that God's will has been done. May Jehovah's will be done in every business and family we serve. What, then, did Jehovah accomplish for the people of Israel?
First, Jehovah is a covenant maker. In the past, God called the ancestors of Israel, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and made a covenant with them, and promised to make Canaan an inheritance for them and their descendants. Even after that, He confirmed that promise to the leaders of the children of Israel several times (Genesis 12:1~3, Exodus 3:8, Joshua 1:2-4). God is the God of covenant. Just as a single seed will surely bear much fruit when it falls into good soil, God's faithful promise will surely come true. In other words, 690 years have passed since the first promise made with Abraham until it was fulfilled, but in the end, despite many hardships, the promise was finally fulfilled. Even if man forsakes God, He will surely accomplish it.
Prayer: God, help your will to be done perfectly, as your will is done in heaven. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
