Title: Jesus Christ at Christmas
Contents
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those with whom you are pleased” (Luke 2:14).
Christmas is the festival of all mankind. It's the happiest day of the year, the most exciting day. It reminds me of Bullet Paper and Jingle Bells. As we approach Christmas, I have three questions to ask. Why did Jesus have to be born of the Virgin Mary? Why did Jesus have to be born in a stable? Why did the shepherds allow the shepherds to witness the birth of Jesus in the first place?
Jesus came as a servant of humility
The meaning of Christmas is in humility. The fact that the baby Jesus, who is God, came as a cell in the mother's womb shows humility. Jesus could not even be born in a typical inn house among the people who came to register. Rather, a quiet stable was the only place. It was a stable, the holy Son of God must be born in a stable, so Jesus was far from authority. But the first Christmas was neither glamorous nor splendid. Jesus' birth did not take place in the Holy See in Rome, in the great cathedral in Jerusalem, or in Rome's most expensive cathedral. It was done in a stable that smells like animal dung, which is not very modest. If Jesus had been born in the Vatican Palace, the Presidential Palace, or the White House in Vatican City, only the elect could have been invited. But Jesus was born in a manger, a bowl for horses in a stinky stable. And the first congratulatory guests of Jesus were the shepherds who were the most despised at the time. He came in a low, lowly figure, and his congratulatory guests were worthy of that status.
Jesus came as the Savior
The supreme purpose of Christmas is that our Savior was born. We call Jesus our Savior. There is no saint or deity with this designation. It is a name given only to Jesus. Through the angels, God made the wise men of the East, who were studying the stars, see the wonders of the birth of Jesus. They were Gentiles. This shows that the whole Jesus is also the Savior of the Gentiles.
Jesus came in the body of the Virgin Mary to be born without human sexual intercourse. This is because Jesus had to come in the form of a sinless and innocent appearance. Mary's personal circumstances almost prevented Jesus from being born. It was because a virgin who had never married and had never lived together was pregnant. She was terrified that the virgin Mary, who was still only a teenager, was pregnant.
Mary's relative, Elizabeth, was a woman who, despite her age, miraculously conceived after an angel appeared and told her that she would have a baby. But for her and Maria, things were dramatically different. Elizabeth's pregnancy was to be congratulated by the villagers, but Maria had to hide her shame for fear of being put to shame.
Mary, who was pregnant before marriage, would have had an abortion if the angel had not taught her that the child to be born was holy and a son of God. Mary said this, even though an angel had appeared and told her that she would give birth to a son of the Most High. “I don’t know a man, how could this be?” “The child to be born is holy and will be called the Son of God.” Finally, Mary makes a surprising confession of faith, saying, “I am the maidservant of the Lord.
How was Joseph? When Joseph found out that Mary was pregnant, he tried to quietly proceed with the divorce proceedings without blaming Mary because Joseph was a very generous person. But not long after, an angel appears and corrects Joseph's thinking. “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife, because she is conceived by the Holy Spirit, and she will give birth to a son, and you shall call him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1) :21)
Jesus came to this earth as the savior of mankind.
Jesus came as the Prince of Peace
The history of mankind has been a history of war. It is said that only 8 percent of the periods recorded in history were peaceful. Out of the past 3,000 years of history, only 300 years were a period of peace, and a total of 8,000 treaties were abolished. “Where is the peace promised by the Christmas baby?” The Bible says that ultimate peace will be achieved when Christ returns. The message of Christmas is peace on earth. He is our peace.
God had made Jesus safely evacuated. Have you made peace with God?
Wise men from the East came to see the stars, and they interpreted the stars as symbols of the king. So they went to Herod's palace. Jesus could not have been born due to the political circumstances of the time. At that time, King Herod the Great could not sleep at the ominous news that the king had been born, and eventually ordered the slaughter of children under the age of two. However, Satan could not prevent the birth of the Prince of Peace. Jesus was born and the door of peace is opened. This is the message of Christmas. One of the most important reasons we celebrate the birth of Jesus is because he brought peace between God and us. Jesus came to this earth as the Prince of Peace. Before Jesus came, the world was groaning in sin and pitch black darkness. But the birth of Jesus freed people from the captivity of sin and gave them hope of life. So Jesus was a gift from God to mankind.
conclusion
Let's hope that the birth of baby Jesus is a birth for us and that it will be a Christmas of thanks because Jesus lives in us. Let's look at our suffering neighbors and those who work harder than we do. Let's take a quiet time to pray for our suffering compatriots in North Korea. Emmanuel (God is with us) Let God be the Lord of Christmas, and let the birth of Jesus become our festival as it is the festival of all mankind.
