Title: Jesus does not change. /Hebrews 13:8
Let's become unchanging saints.
The only thing that does not change in a changing world is the gospel. Everything in the world changes. We live in the world, but we do not become of the world. We are reformers who change the world with citizenship in heaven. Why do things in the world change so often? Because they did not possess the truth. The truth does not change. Because truth is perfect. The truth does not change according to the world and always gives peace to an unstable life (John 14:26-27). So those who are in the truth give thanks in everything (1 Thessalonians 5:18). If you too are in the truth, you overcome the world and the powers of the devil and Satan that belong to the world (Romans 8:31-39).
First: There is no change in existence and work.
This is the trouble that my stupidity has created. When I was young, there was a homework that I couldn't solve. If all human beings are saved through faith in Jesus, how were the Old Testament people who lived before the Lord came to be saved? Later, when I went to school and studied, I fell into even greater trouble. The division of religions brought Christianity into the category of secular religions. However, the problem is that Confucius of Confucianism (551-479 B.C.) and Buddha of Buddhism (466-386 B.C.) were born much earlier than Jesus. That is why some call Jesus a Buddhist disciple. It was a huge shock to my ignorant spiritual findings, and I grew up with many questions while suffering alone because of my religious pride. After realizing the revealed will of God recorded in the Bible in the latter days, I was rather grateful and found in the Bible a bunch of ignorant and foolish people like me before.
This is a mistake made by the Jews. The doctrine of the Trinity is the foundation of Christian faith, theology, and life. However, there is no such doctrine in Judaism, which was created by the Jews. They acknowledged and did not believe in Jesus as the Messiah (Christ). "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day, and when he saw it, he was glad." The Jews said, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?" Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am." (John 8:56-58). The Jews only knew that Jesus was a descendant of Abraham and did not know that Jesus existed before Abraham. They believe that the beginning of existence was when the Lord took on human clothing in the flesh and became the city on this earth. This is not the beginning of existence, but the beginning of the work of redemption. This is the false belief of those who do not have faith in the Triune God. When the Trinity doctrine is destroyed, any belief, belief, and theological doctrine is wrong.
You are the Lord from the beginning. John teaches us so clearly. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God, and through him all things were made, and without him nothing that was made was made.” (John 1:1-3). When the Lord created the heavens and the earth in the beginning, He worked as a Trinity with God the Father and the Comforter of the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1-2). “Lord, in the beginning you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens were the work of your hands; they will perish, but you will endure forever… and you will remain, without end of age” (Hebrews 1:10-12). ) said. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but the Lord will endure forever…” (Psalm 102:26). After completing the work of salvation in the city, the Lord, who ascended to heaven, asked his disciples as a great command: “Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20 ) said.
Second: There is no change in the covenant and the Atonement.
Christianity is the religion of the Word (John 1:1). He created heaven and earth with the Word (Genesis 1:1), made a covenant with the Word (Genesis 3:17), and revealed it with the Word (Genesis 3:9). That is why the Bible is called the Covenant Covenant Revelation. This is a special grace given by God's special providence. Then, what are the promises of God recorded in the Bible? It records the fact that the gospel, the new covenant, was given to save mankind who had sinned by destroying the old covenant. This covenant is the unchanging Word of God, written by inspiration of God Himself. That's why Paul said, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). Nothing in the world is impossible, but the word of God makes us whole.
It is a covenant of atonement. Humans are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-28). Therefore, man must live with God. Leaving God is the greatest tragedy, and living with God is the happiest life. That is why God made a covenant to live with humans (Genesis 3:17). However, humans have broken that contract. As a result, they turned away from God and turned away from Him (Genesis 3:8). In order to save unhappy humans, God gave us a new covenant. That is the gospel. It appears as a faint shadow in the Old Testament. He showed Adam as a model of a garment of skin (Genesis 3:21), as a lamb in the Exodus (Exodus 12:7), and as an Azazel goat in the days of Canaan (Leviticus 16:22), the coming Messiah. Then, later, the perfect gospel appeared. The Lord completed the work of salvation at once at Calvary (John 19:30).
It is the immutability of the covenant. Every time I deal with the Noah's Flood incident, I feel very uncomfortable. In that era, all humans were judged by God and perished, and only Noah and the eighth family lived. On the other hand, when the Holy Spirit came down on the day of Pentecost, 3,000 people a day, 5,000 people, repented and returned (Acts 2:41, 4:4). In a way, it seems unfair. But it is not unfair, but God's grace. However, in our time today, anyone can hear the gospel and believe in Jesus. It is by the grace of God that we are born today. “Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31). The covenant once made is an unchanging, unchanging truth. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).
Third: There is no change in power and authority.
Anyone who meets Jesus will change their life. Your life can also be transformed in Christ. Thousands of lives have been changed after meeting Jesus. When you are held in the hands of his power and authority, amazing works will happen.
It is the Lord who changed the worldly life. Zacchaeus of Jericho is an old man who only knows money. I risked everything to make money. So they were treated as sinners. Such a life was completely changed after receiving the Lord (Luke 19:8). The Samaritan woman of Suga, a woman with five husbands, searched for and tried all worldly things, but was not satisfied with her heart. Then one day he met Jesus at the well. Perhaps that Jesus was his last bridegroom. All of that happiness was found in Jesus. So I threw away my water jar and ran to the town to preach the gospel (John 4:28-29). Look at Saul, who met the Lord in Damascus, who thought he would be saved because of his natural Hebrew descent and his academic and religious achievements. But the moment he met the risen Lord in Damascus, his life was completely changed (Acts 9:5).
The Lord gives hope out of despair and death. The woman caught in adultery is alive but dead. But he was fortunate enough to stand before Jesus. When the Lord said, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at him" (John 8:7), and everyone from adults to children went away. The woman started a new life by meeting Jesus. Look at the robber on the right hand side of the cross of Jesus, he is bleeding and dying. I have reached the gates of Hades. However, right before his death, he accepted the Lord as his Savior. At that moment he entered paradise with the Lord (Luke 23:43). Lazarus of Bethany fell ill and died while fighting the disease. When the Lord found Bethany, he had been dead for three days and had a smelly body (John 11:39). The Lord raised Lazarus from the dead and brought joy to his family and Bethany.
Dear saints!
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. There is no change in its existence and work. There is no change in the covenant and atonement. There is no change in its power and authority. I pray that you too will become an unchanging saint and be faithful to the mission the Lord has entrusted to you. Hallelujah!
