Jesus enters Jerusalem (Mark 11:1-10)
Jesus entered Jerusalem to accomplish the great history of salvation for mankind. Seeing this, the people welcomed his entrance by waving palm branches, a symbol of victory and glory. Let's take a look through the words of Jesus who entered Jerusalem to accomplish the salvation of mankind.
① He is the Prince of Peace (Ephesians 2:4)- Jesus, who became the sacrifice for mankind, who was God's enemy, is the King of Peace. By breaking down the barriers between God and humans created by sin, the Lord allowed sinful humans to enjoy true peace in God.
② He is the King of Sacrifice (Galatians 1:4) - The Lord who entered Jerusalem in a humble appearance riding a donkey and completed the work of suffering by obeying the will of God the Father is the King of Sacrifice. He accomplished the salvation of all mankind by performing the ministry with a humble attitude to the end and sacrificing himself thoroughly to the point of giving himself to the cross.
③ He is the King of kings (verses 9 and 10)- Jesus, who entered Jerusalem for the salvation of mankind, is the King of kings. Because the object of his redemption includes not only the Jews, but all the forsaken Gentiles, that is, we who are New Testament saints now.
Jesus Christ, who entered Jerusalem after taking the steps of suffering for the work of redemption for mankind, was truly the King of peace, the King of sacrifice, and the King of kings. As the people of Jesus, we should enjoy peace in the Lord and build our lives with total sacrifice and loyalty to the Lord.
