[Midnight] Jesus Healing the Blind
Jesus healed the blind
John 9:7
“Then he said to them, ‘Go and wash in the pool of Siloam.’ (Siloam means sent) So he went and washed, and came with bright eyes.”
The evangelist talked about Lent in the last sermon.. What is Lent?...
That's right.. The 40 days before Easter was called Lent to commemorate the days when Jesus suffered and suffered on the cross and to be holy and reverent.
Before Jesus was nailed to the cross, the Roman governors, the high priests, the Pharisees, and the crowds who hated and opposed Jesus continued to harass Him, and how could he be convicted and executed? Things were happening...
Even in such difficult circumstances, Jesus did many precious works of healing the sick, casting out demons, helping the poor, and saving people.
Today's text describes a scene where Jesus heals a blind man.. The blind man was a man who had been blind since birth. So the disciples who were with him asked Jesus.. Jesus! Jesus!! Who made this blind man become so blind?... Whose sin made him so blind?...
Jesus said... It's not his fault that this man became blind, it's not his parents' fault, and it's not anyone's fault.
Then he said that all these things were done to show the works that God wanted to do. In other words, Jesus healed the blind to show the glory of God and to make God's holy works known to all people in the world.
everyone!! You must have seen a lot of disabled people around you who have uncomfortable legs or no hands.
When you see people like that, what do you think?...I feel pitiful, and I also wonder, what made me become like that?...
Today Jesus saw a blind man and told him to go to the pool and wash. He said Siloam.. Siloam means he was sent.
Jesus also said in John 9:5 that I am the light of the world...
This means to look to Jesus who is the light.. The words to us, who are so lacking and full of faults, were telling us not to become spiritually blind, but to open our eyes and look to Jesus.
Let's follow along... 'Let's look to Jesus, who is the light of the world...'
As Jesus healed the blind man, we must look to Jesus, who is the light of the world, the work that God wants to reveal.
In the name of the Lord, I ask that you not always become spiritually blind, but that all of our Juan Church friends go forward looking to Jesus, who is the light of the world...
Let's pray...
