Title: Jesus Holiness Movement/Romans 12-2
Contents Jesus Holiness Movement (Romans 12-2 Lee Jin-Woo)
Soon the summer has passed. Have you ever seen the sky these days? It seems that the sky has never been as clear and high as it is today. How grateful I am to live on the Korean Peninsula in Korea, which has four seasons and four seasons as we approach autumn.
I hope that we can become young people who once again experience God's love and grace while looking at the change of seasons.
You can think of it simply as one of the common evangelistic meetings held on campus. In fact, there are many meetings such as evangelism meetings held on many campuses. I do it more than once or twice a year.
But the reason I am interested in this gathering is because the place is called Sungkyunkwan. Of course, it's because it's my alma mater, but that's where I studied abroad, which has been the mainstream of this country and the nation's ideology, before I graduated. Sungkyunkwan University says that the history of the school is 600 years (though others do not acknowledge it) because the history of the school sees the establishment of Sungkyunkwan, the best educational institution in the Joseon Dynasty, as the beginning of the school. In this way, it is the oldest school in our country. Sungkyunkwan University proudly talks about its 600-year history on the anniversary of its founding. Although my alma mater, this is nothing to be proud of. Sungkyunkwan has been teaching Confucianism since the Joseon Dynasty, and this spirit remains in many parts of our country even today. Inheriting that spirit, Sungkyunkwan University still teaches the subject of studying abroad. The 600-year history of Sungkyunkwan University is the history of idolatry. It has the oldest history of idolatry among our country's campuses.
When you pass through the main gate of the Sungkyunkwan University campus in Seoul, Myeongnyundang and Daeseongjeon, called Sungkyunkwan of the Joseon Dynasty, are preserved on the right side. I didn't know that either, but there are still many Yurims who believe in Confucius and study abroad all over the country. It is said that they still wear a hat and wear a coat. They regularly gather at Sungkyunkwan. I went to school one day, and it was not easy to go to school because there were so many people in front of the main gate. When I found out why, hundreds of Yurims from all over the country came up and held a ritual in front of the tablets of Confucius.
In Sungkyunkwan University, this is not uncommon. In September, Confucius' birthday (they call it Confucius's birthday), which the Yu-Lim adheres to, is celebrated, so there are more Yu-Lin events.
In this way, Sungkyunkwan University is thoroughly immersed in the ideology of Confucianism and Confucianism. We often overlook some schools known as Buddhist schools, but Sungkyunkwan University is no different from them.
There are many campuses in our country and many college student mission organizations. Think of the campuses you attend and graduate from. There are usually more than 10 college student mission groups on campus. Some campuses have as many as 20 campuses. However, among them, there are far fewer groups that have been approved as official clubs on campus and are active. Although it varies from campus to campus, there are usually between 6-10 organizations that have been approved as official clubs on campus.
Currently, only 4 clubs in Sungkyunkwan University have been accredited. Most of the many missions agencies have not been approved as official clubs. Every year, 2-3 missions agencies try to get accreditation, but it's not easy. The same is true of the Joy Mission Church to which I belonged. I've been trying since 2000, when I was active, but I haven't been able to achieve it yet.
Perhaps under these circumstances, a common evangelism meeting has never been held on the Sungdae campus. The evangelism meeting held this time is therefore more meaningful. Many evil spirits on campus must be disturbing the meeting. It has always been, and the evil spirits have ruled the campus until now, and the spirits have ruled the country to this day.
It is not easy to hold an evangelism meeting in a place with 600 years of idolatry. The juniors preparing for the event are now declaring a fast and preparing for the event. This is because proper preparation is needed to destroy the 600-year history of idolatry. In other words, there are many obstacles from evil spirits that we are not aware of, so I specifically asked you to pray while writing this long letter.
Also, there is one movement that is being conducted on campus while preparing for the meeting, and that is the title of today's sermon, 'Jesus Holiness Movement'.
Last month I spoke to you about revival. We preached the word that we should live while experiencing the revival of God in the community to which we belong and in each of our lives. The Jesus Holiness Movement was started with that purpose.
Many Christians live their lives dreaming of revival. So are we. We want our youth community to be revived, we want this church to be revived, and we want our country and people to be revived. In this way, we live with the dream of revival. These dreams of revival can be of course possessed by Christians on this earth. But what about our real life? Are you living a life that is a little far from the hope of revival?
It is said that there are over 10 million Christians in this land. Statistics show that a quarter of the population is Christian. If you go out in evangelism, you can easily see that fact. Many people go to church. Even those who say they don't go to church now, if you talk a little bit, there are many people who say that they did when they were young. Few people say that they have never set foot in a church before.
Then, why does the work of revival not occur in this earth and in our lives? Even though there are over 10 million Christians in this land, won't there be a revival in this land? This is because we, who are called children of God, cannot live according to the Word of God. This is because the Word of God submits to the standards of the world, not the standards.
Do not yield to the world's standards and idols of success, successism, and superficialism, and believe that only the Word of God and the Gospel can save the world, and the Word of God becomes the standard for one's life, You must become a true Christian who fights with sin to the point of death and lives according to the Word of God.
God wants revival so much, and God longs for all souls on this earth to return to God, but there is a feeling of frustration or regret that the day may not come because we are not prepared.
In this age, we are well aware that God works through people. That is why it is unfortunate that the history of revival is not behind us because we are not prepared.
In these circumstances, we may excuse ourselves in the name of rationality. We may make excuses by pointing out our weaknesses. Perhaps you want to avoid it by saying, ?쏷he heart is willing, but the flesh is weak.??
If we look at God's work of revival, we can see two things in common.
God's people give themselves wholly to what pleases God. When God's people lived according to God's Word and became holy through God's Word, God's work of revival began there.
The Jesus Holiness Movement is a movement to live according to the will of God according to the Word. That is why it is a movement to rekindle the work of God's revival on this earth.
The Bible speaks of our body as a holy temple. Believers must be set apart. We must be separated from the world. Even if you live in the sins of the world and the mud splashes and spits on you, you must have a distinctive image as a believer in the midst of it. It is only possible when we return to the Word of God.
I would like to make a suggestion to you here right now. I want this Jesus holiness movement to take place in the youth department of the Shepherd Church. I hope to become young people who can present themselves to God in a clean and sanctified form, relying only on the Word of God in spite of the many standards of sacrifice. The second passage we read today, Romans 12:1-2, says:
If the Jesus Holiness Movement takes place within the youth ministry and spreads throughout the church, our community can change. This church can change. As the Grand Sanctuary is about to be completed, it is said that changes are needed for the era of the Great Sanctuary from a church perspective. So, in many ways, little by little, changes for the era of the Great Crusade will begin little by little. Right before the completion of the Grand Sanctuary, the most necessary thing is the Jesus sanctification movement. Then this area can change. If we do that first, this land, this people, and this country can change.
We know that the history of revival does not happen as a single event.
In this age, God is looking for people who will participate in God's work of revival. No matter how evil this age becomes, no matter how many 10 million Christians there are on this earth, we must remember that God is looking for people who obey His Word and live by it. We know well what Abraham prayed to God when God was about to destroy the land of Sodom and Gomorrah. At that time, God said that if there were only ten righteous people in the land, He would not destroy them.
The Jesus Holiness Movement is to become one of the 10 righteous people who save ourselves and ourselves.
So, when all the young people on this earth live by the word of God, the name of Jesus Christ, who was despised because of our weakness, will be exalted, and soon the earth will change.
We have this hope.
Only the blood-stained gospel of Jesus Christ we have can sanctify us and change this earth, this people, and this nation.
Dear young people of Mokyang Church!!
You are holy in this world. There is nothing other than the Word of God that you should use as a standard when you live in this world. I earnestly wish that you will be reborn as young people who can change the earth by giving yourself completely to the word of God and living according to the word of God.
