Title: Jesus is the Bread of Life
content
p; John 6:51-57
p; Today is Holy Communion Sunday. In particular, today is World Communion Sunday, a Sunday in which all churches around the world celebrate the Lord's Supper together. Today, perhaps for 24 hours, churches around the world will celebrate Holy Communion in a row. It is a very important ceremony in the sense that we all confess that we are children of God who have been saved through the Lord Jesus Christ, transcending races, countries, and regions. Also, the Lord's Supper is a huge and continuous church ceremony and confession of faith that contains the confession that not only the saints living in our age but also all the saints are one in the Lord in 2000 years since the Lord began in Mark's upper room. Why do we Christians continue to celebrate this Eucharist through all generations? Why did the Lord tell us to do this?
p; 1. It is to give the grace of forgiveness of sins.
Of course, we receive the grace of forgiveness of sins through our prayers of repentance. But the Lord's Supper is an experience that embodies such grace in our lives. It is not only through the Lord's Supper that sins are forgiven, but the Lord's Supper embodies the experience of remission of sins.
There is no way in the world to wash away the sins of the soul except through the grace of Christ on the cross. Generally speaking, when you hear the world talk about how to wash away sins, it is to do many good things. It is to do good. But that cannot wash away sins. In the future, we may be able to lessen our sins through our actions, but we cannot wash away our past sins in that way. Also, because not believing in Jesus Christ is the greatest sin against God's will, the problem of sin is not fundamentally solved. The only way to wash away sins is to receive forgiveness from God. The only way for forgiveness of sins created by God is through the grace of Jesus Christ on the cross. The Lord's Supper is a time of forgiveness of sins through the grace of Jesus Christ on the cross.
bsp; All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
bsp; through the redemption in Christ Jesus
bsp; being justified freely by the grace of God. Romans 3:23-24
p; Today, this little bread and wine does not wash away our sins, but the faith that obeys the Lord's word and participates in the heart becomes the channel of God's grace that forgives our sins.
p; 2. It is to open the channel of grace.
When a believer commits a sin, the spiritual channel connected with God is blocked. Sin creates a wall between us and God. Therefore, the relationship with God is distanced, prayer is blocked, the soul becomes stuffy, and life is blocked. Jesus carried the cross to break down the wall of sin that separates God and man and to open the path of grace. So when Jesus died on the cross, the veil of the temple was torn from above.
bsp; Therefore, brethren, we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus.
bsp; It is a new and living way that you have opened for us through the veil.
bsp; The veil is his body. Hebrews 10:19-20
When we receive forgiveness of sins, the wall between us and God is broken down. No matter how hard people try and make an effort, only when God is with them will the road prosper. God's people prospered when they walked with God.
The Lord's Supper is a time to receive God's grace by breaking down barriers with God and opening spiritual channels.
p; 3. To give life food to the soul.
The body becomes healthy by eating food. The mind becomes healthy by acquiring good knowledge. The spirit is to be healthy with heavenly food.
p; We must eat Jesus, the Bread of Life. Faith is eating the words of Jesus so that they become the blood and flesh and power of my life. Especially, it is the time to eat the Lord's Supper and the Bread of Life. May the Lord's Supper be a place of grace that fills your soul with new strength again.
p; I bless you that today will be a wonderful time of grace when you receive the forgiveness of sins through the Lord's Supper, the channels of God and grace are wide open, and your soul is filled with the energy of heavenly life.
