I. grave seekers
<
< At dawn on the first day after the Sabbath, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb of Jesus. The first day after the Sabbath is Sunday, today's Sunday. The women went to the tomb of Jesus early on a Sunday morning. On Friday, they checked the place where Jesus was buried and went back to prepare spices. You cannot go to the grave on the Sabbath. So, on the first Sunday after the Sabbath, I went to the tomb of Jesus. Jewish tombs are different from our own graves. It is a tomb in which the body is dug in a rock. These women went to the tomb to apply spices on the dead body of the Lord they loved.
<
I wanted to do my last service to the Lord who died miserably on the cross.
But now the situation is very dangerous. The streets of Jerusalem were fierce, and the hatred of the high priests, scribes, and elders who had Jesus crucified burned with hatred even toward Jesus' disciples. Finding the tomb of Jesus at such times is a life-risking adventure. You never know what will happen. But nothing could stop the burning hearts of these women toward Jesus. So they went to the tomb of Jesus. However, they did not know that Jesus was resurrected and went to the tomb.
<
The Wangneung in Beijing, China, was built with a lot of effort, and a beautiful grove of trees over the tomb. So everyone is decorating the tomb. In this way, the religions of this world hold the dead and scold the people of this world. But our Christianity is a religion without graves. There is no tomb of Jesus. There are no tombs of Jewish kings mentioned in the Bible. Resurrection religion has a prophetic meaning.
II. resurrected jesus
<
< The stone that blocked the door of the tomb has been rolled away. The door to the tomb is open. The body of Jesus that was supposed to be in the tomb was gone. The women were troubled. At this time, two angels appeared and said, “Why do you seek the living from the dead? He is not here, but is risen.” Literally translated, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has been raised.” It means that God has raised him up. People put an end to death. I think death is the end of it all. But God brought him back to life. The Lord spoke to His disciples many times. He said that he would have to go up to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised on the third day.
<
But the disciples did not believe. The women told the disciples all that had happened in the tomb, but the disciples did not believe either. Rather, it was regarded as a nonsensical story. But Jesus is alive. He came back to life as the Lord had said.
<
Ⅲ. our resurrection
<
<
Dear all! Since Jesus Christ became the first fruit of the resurrection, we too will be resurrected with a body like Jesus Christ in the future. This is the true hope, the whole of our faith, and the ultimate goal of our salvation. We must now live thinking beyond death. We must live in the hope of the New Jerusalem beyond the Jordan River. When the hope of this resurrection is certain, under no circumstances will we despair or be discouraged. I can bear with any unfortunate incident. Even in the face of death, you can be courageous without being scornful. And those who have faith in the resurrection do their best in today's life. Whether it's a job, a business, or a study, I do my best. The reason is that there is a real hope.
<
< Dear friends! The risen Lord has promised, "I will always be with you, even to the end of the age." May this resurrection Lord be with us today. I pray that we will all be victorious by being filled with the resurrection life and the power of resurrection. I pray that the resurrected Lord will be with our families, our churches, and this nation.
