Title: Jesus Loved His Disciples

Bible: Luke 12:1-7

Starting Point of the Word>>

Today, I would like to share a sermon with the title of “Jesus Who Loved His Disciples”.

We must live as believers and become saints who remember how much the Lord loves us.

In order to save us, the Lord not only died on the cross, rose again, but also sends the Holy Spirit to us, showing the confirmation of His love for us even now.

But we often lose the love of the Lord and live our lives.

Compared to the love of the Lord, who constantly shows love through the Word, through prayer, and through God's work and intervention in life, we give the Lord a confession of love that is too short.

If you look at today's text,

Jesus is giving counsel to the disciples who are going to the world to preach the gospel.

Although they were disciples who had followed Jesus for a long time, Jesus was worried about them and knew what to give them faith and courage.

In a word, today's text can be said to be the words that Jesus, who loves his disciples, gives them courage and strength.

In the name of the Lord, I ask that the saints who are loved by Jesus take the time to realize that Jesus gives us courage, strength, and strength from time to time to reveal how we can be victorious through life in this world.

Go to Word>>

What is Jesus' message to his disciples today?

First, “beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.”

If we look at verse 1 of the text,

“In the meantime, tens of thousands of people gathered together, so that they were trampling on each other. But Jesus spoke first to his disciples, saying, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.”

You said.

The word Pharisee here means “separated.”

The Pharisees thought to themselves that they were holy and separated from the common people.

But in the eyes of Jesus, their holiness was not true, it was an outward appearance, it was different from the outside and the inside was formal.

Then, what was the life of the superficial faith that the Pharisees insisted on departing from the Word?

First, we see that the law was adhered to.

They did not recognize Jesus as the Messiah, who came to this earth to save them.

They thought that they could be saved only by keeping the law, so they could not immediately realize Jesus who came before them as the Savior.

Even today, many believers think that something that is easy to misunderstand must have some merit in order to be saved.

However, our Christianity is not the law, but the gospel, that is, salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ.

This is Romans 3:28.

“Therefore we acknowledge that a person is justified not by works of the law, but by faith.”

I did.

Next, the superficial religious life of the Pharisees lies in their pride, thinking that “only themselves serve God well.”

According to Luke 18:10,

“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a publican.”

There is a saying.

The Pharisees fasted twice a week and proudly prayed that they would pay tithes of their income accurately, but the tax collector could not lift his eyes and beat his chest and repented and prayed, saying, “I am a sinner.

What is the result?

Jesus rebuked the pride of the Pharisees and said that the prayers of publicans are more righteous.

Lastly, the hypocrisy of the Pharisees is that they value religious rituals more than life.

When Jesus healed a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath, the Pharisees accused him of breaking the Sabbath.

But Jesus emphasized that a person's life is more important than the Sabbath.

A believer should not be a religious person who values religious ceremonies, but a person of grace full of love, mercy, and gentleness.

In this way, the Pharisees were caught up in their superficial beliefs to represent themselves, and they taught many to imitate themselves.

However, Jesus exhorted them to beware of their superficial faith, that is, leaven, because their faith is a superficial faith, and it is contagious like yeast.

Second, Jesus told his disciples about ‘do not be afraid’ and ‘what you should be afraid of’.

If we look at the words of verses 4-5 of the text,

“I tell you my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that are unable to do any more, I will show you whom you ought to fear; fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. I say, fear him.”

When Jesus sent out his disciples, he spoke two main things about fear, one about “not to be afraid of” and the other about “something to be afraid of”.

So, first of all, what did Jesus say do not be afraid?

As verse 4 says, do not be afraid of the persecutor, tribulation, or death.

They may bring pain in the body, but they do not destroy the soul.

Next, he said, “Fear God.”

As in verse 5

We should be afraid of God, who will kill us and send us to hell.

Most people see that they are afraid of the visible, but are not afraid of the invisible God.

Therefore, rather than living depending on the visible world, believers should fear the invisible God and live according to His will.

Third, Jesus spoke one last time about how much God loves His disciples.

Looking at verses 6-7 of the text,

“Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings? But not one of them is forgotten before God. Even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid, for you are of more value than many sparrows.”

You said.

Jesus said to his disciples, that the insignificant God nourishes and protects them, but do not be afraid because a God who knows you well enough to have all the hairs on your head numbered is with you.

There is a reason why we are honored like the words of Jesus.

First, because we were created in the image of God.

This is because Jesus Christ bought us through the price of His blood by dying on the cross.

And finally, we are honored because God picks us up and uses us as His servants.

At the end of the speech>>

Organize your words.

Today, Jesus sent his disciples out of love and gave them words that give them courage and faith.

At this time, the Lord has given us these words because He loves us.

There are many hypocrites and false leaders like the Pharisees before us now.

Also, to kill our spirits, the evil devil Satan puts a heavy burden on us.

But the Lord says there is nothing to worry about because God is with you.

He tells us to keep our faith strong and depend only on the God who loves us.

Today, I earnestly pray in the name of the Lord that you and I may become saints loved by the Lord and experience the great and wonderful work of receiving God's help from the world.
