Title: Jesus Made Perfect by Suffering
Contents
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world in the flesh to be perfected through suffering. The Bible declares this as “the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God” (Mark 1:1).
He was born with suffering from birth. As it is written, “He gave birth to his firstborn son, wrapped him in cloths, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for him in the office” (Luke 2:7). He also took refuge in Egypt.
When Jesus was 12 years old, he thought that the temple built with human hands was the house of God. Therefore, Jesus said, "Why did you seek me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?..." (Luke 2:49).
This is because, according to the written evidence, “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52), wisdom was still growing and was in the process of reaching perfection.
That is, it is like the words of the evidence, “When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I understood like a child, I thought like a child, but when I became a man, I gave up childish things” (1 Corinthians 13:11).
Thus, when Jesus became a man, he knew that the temple was not a temple built with human hands. So, “Jesus answered and said, ‘Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up’ (John 2:19).
Therefore, the Bible has come to testify that the child born must become a perfect son again. It is the same as the words of the testimony that is written, "...you are my son, and today I have begotten you, and again I will be a father to him, and he will be a son to me..." (Hebrews 1:5).
The process by which the Son of God becomes the perfect son of God is the suffering of death. He testified, “But we saw Jesus, whom we had been made lower than the angels for a little while, who suffered death, crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for all. It is fitting that the Lord of their salvation should be perfected through sufferings to bring many sons to glory, because of all things and by them” (Hebrews 2:9-10).
All of God's children cannot be perfected as children of God except through the sufferings of Jesus through faith. Therefore, the Bible testifies, “If children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, for we must suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him” (Romans 8:17).
This means, “For children are of flesh and blood, and he also belongs to flesh and blood in one way, to put away those who had overtaken the power of death through death, the devil, and also to set free all those who were in bondage all their lives because they feared death. Indeed, not to sustain the angels, but to sustain the offspring of Abraham. Therefore, in all respects, he deserved to be made like his brothers, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted” (Hebrews 2:14-18).
For this reason, the Bible says together with Jesus, “God has locked up all in disobedience, so that he may have mercy on them all; deep is the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God; It will not be possible” (Romans 11:32-33).
Therefore, the Bible testifies, “We do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been in all respects tempted as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15).
Also, "...Christ did not glorify himself as a high priest either, but he who said to him said to him, "You are my son, today I have begotten you." And in the same way he said elsewhere, "You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek. While he was in the flesh he offered up supplications and supplications with loud cries and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. The Bible records that he became the source of eternal salvation for all, and was called by God high priest after the order of Melchizedek” (Hebrews 5:5-10).
Because of this, the Bible testifies that “the law ordained men with weaknesses as priests, but the word of the oath which was made after the law hath appointed a son made perfect forever” (Hebrews 7:28).
No one can sanctify himself before God. That is why the Lord Jesus said, “The Bible cannot be abolished. If those who received the word of God are called gods, how much more do you blaspheme for the one whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, saying, I am the Son of God?” (John 10:35- 36) testified that
Therefore, it was testified that “every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from above from the Father of lights, who does not change and does not change shadows” (James 1:17) He will transform our lowly bodies to be like His glorious body” (Philippians 3:21). it has been
For this reason, the Bible concludes the gospel, saying, “For you believe in God through Christ, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God” (1 Peter 1:21). Amen, thank you Lord.
