(Hymns No. 260 - To Save Us From Our Sins)
Doctrine-No. 91 (Sacrament 1)
-summary-
What we are trying to convey to the world
It's not about any famous pastor or missionary.
What we want the world to know
What we want to tell everyone in the world is our Lord Jesus Christ.
Because Jesus died on the cross
Our sins have been forgiven and the way to God has been opened.
Jesus judged the devil by resurrecting from the dead
In Jesus we too will be resurrected.
We see Jesus crucified
We preach to the world in a foolish way called evangelism. (1 Corinthians 1:21)
Not using the wisdom of words or the world's more effective advertising techniques
First, that the cross of Christ might not be in vain. (1 Corinthians 1:17)
We only want to preach the cross of Jesus Christ.
God bless you with your infinite love and the wonderful grace of Jesus Christ.
It is only because he revealed it to the world through that cross.
Second, because spiritual things can only be discerned by spiritual things. (1 Corinthians 2:13,14)
Jesus Christ is the mystery of God that has been hidden from before the foundation of the world.
It was something that man could not have thought of or known.
Concerning Jesus Christ is beyond the level of human reason or knowledge.
It is God's plan and it is a work on a spiritual level.
Therefore, the gospel of the cross of Jesus Christ is not to understand and believe.
It is to believe in your heart and to understand with the help of the Holy Spirit.
The message of the cross is foolishness to those who do not accept the gospel and perish.
To us who are being saved, it is the power of God and the wisdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18, 24)
Therefore, some people say to show a miracle
Some seek plausible ideas or wise philosophies, but
We only preach Christ crucified. (1 Corinthians 1:22,23)
Any famous person who has done a good work in Christ
All of his beautiful things were done by receiving from God.
Therefore, we have nothing to boast about but Christ. (1 Corinthians 4:7)
