Title: Jesus Our King!
Text: (Psalm 2:1-12)
Hymns: Chapter 38. Jesus our King
Date: May 26, 2010 (Wednesday) 5 am
Venue: Jeonju Yebut Church Grand Worship Room
God raises his son as king to judge a world that despises his kingdom. This is the promise of the kingdom of God that has been fulfilled in Jesus Christ beyond the Davidic dynasty, and it promises blessings to those who obey the rule through this Son.
Who is God?
1. (Verses 4-5) He sees every conspiracy of the nations of the world beyond Israel and ridicules them.
He not only considers man's vain plans to exalt himself a joke, he is angry with the pride of man who does not know his subject. Does he seem powerless as he sees all kinds of injustice everywhere ignoring God or in the name of God? The Lord is watching. You know everything. The Lord is angry just like us.
2. (Verse 6) He establishes and supports the king he has chosen on the holy mountain of God, Zion, and he announces to the princes of the world.
David put his trust in God, who not only ridiculed his enemies by setting him up as king in a difficult crisis situation, but was also responsible for the chosen king to the end. This is why we are proud of this world.
3. (Verses 7~9) He issues a decree establishing a son as king.
He passes on all the powers of the Heavenly Father to the Son. He not only becomes the master of the whole world, but also gives us the strength to overcome the evil plan of the world that despises the kingdom of God (Philippians 2:9-11). When we rely on Jesus, who has come as the true King, we, as royal priests, can overcome this world more than enough. Even if there is no land in sight, we too can conquer the world when we surrender our rulership to the Lord as King in our lives today.
What is your lesson for me?
(Verses 1-3) God's people meditate on the word of the Lord, but the people of the world “manage” vain things.
Hear the world's bluffs. Isn't it similar to the arrogance of building the Tower of Babel to resist God by making a name for yourself? Let us, children of God, listen more to the voice of the Lord so that we do not get caught up in the turmoil of this world.
(Verses 10-12) Abandon man's vain wisdom and plans and quickly surrender now to Christ, the Son of God.
This is the only way to live. Let's close our ears to the sound of the world that is squeezing our necks every moment, and today, let's quietly look to the sky and listen to wisdom and lessons.
The Lord is our King, so even if all directions are blocked, let us only look to the Lord above! Have pity on us and help us!
