Title: Jesus Raising Jairus' Daughter
1. Words that begin
Surprisingly, over 375,000 babies are born with drug addiction in the United States each year. Even more shockingly, such babies die prematurely after suffering physical sequelae such as pneumonia, chronic diarrhea, meningitis, and night phobia, as well as lethargy. This statistic was about 18 years ago, so it can be said that there are many more now.
Not long ago, when I learned through domestic and foreign newspapers and broadcasts that the North Korean communist regime was without hesitation in removing the anti-humanitarian act of selling drugs, etc., I was deeply ashamed as a fellow countryman. These days, our country is not only ruined by drug addiction, but also things are happening that drop the whole family into an abyss of unhappiness.
About 10 years ago, there was an incident where a father in our country threw his young daughter to death because of drug addiction, calling her a monster. Likewise, some parents lead their children to fatal suffering or death, while others bring their dead daughter back to life through Jesus.
2. Jairus, the ruler of the synagogue who came to Jesus
While Jesus was on the seashore, a large crowd gathered, and Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, fell at His feet. Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, who is in charge of managing the synagogue and preparing for worship, prostrates himself in front of Jesus, who has no position in the world, and moreover, who can be called a heretic from the point of view of orthodox Judaism, it is evident that he is a very humble person. There is. Also, his act of faith gave up all his status, dignity, dignity, and face, and he risked being rejected by his people.
The reason Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, did the very difficult act of faith in front of everyone was not because of his own selfish purpose, but because he wanted to somehow heal his daughter who had died. It was impossible for a human Jairus to do it, but it was the infidelity that made him do it because he loved his useless daughter who had fallen ill and died.
Almost all parents love their children as best they can. Also, I am proud of it. However, the question is whether the love of parents who are doing their best is really true love and whether it is sufficient love. Parents who run wild for lust, parents who do everything they can to get ahead or succeed, some parents who have a lover at the center of the administration and who are greedy for bribes, think they love their children right. .
Even parents who believe in the Lord Jesus, if they do not bow down and pray for their children to the Lord, who is the creator of their children's lives and who is in charge of life and death, the love of the parents is insufficient and there is a problem.
3. Jairus' Many Pleas for His Daughter
Jairus, the ruler of the synagogue, fell down at Jesus' feet and prayed a lot. I did not care if it became a spectacle of people, I looked only at the Lord and prayed. “My little daughter is about to die; come and lay your hands on her, that she may be saved and live.”
Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, believed that even the sick could be brought back to life if only the hand of Jesus' power was laid on them. Isn't that great faith? Even so, the centurion's trust is not enough. In Matthew 8:8, we read, “The centurion answered and said, ‘Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my house; only speak the word, and my servant will be healed.’” The centurion loved the servant, one of the property lists of the time, not his children, and he believed that if it was Jesus, he was the Lord of great power, who could heal the sickness of a servant with just his words.
The faith of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, is not as good as that of a centurion, but our Lord will surely answer even a person who lacks faith if he trusts and leans on him. Even a person with any character and ability is not to be ignorant of the expectations of those who trust him. If so, is it not necessary to say more about Jesus? But what is frustrating is that we do not believe in Jesus, and we do not pray for our children even though we believe in Jesus.
Even among our children who believe in Jesus, some groan from a mortal disease, some more worry than die, some have their personalities damaged, and some are swayed by unclean spirits. As a parent, I put all my effort and effort into it, and I consult with experts, but in the end, there may be cases where I give up. There will be times when you will have to raise your hand at the cost of children's problems or family problems, even the masters of mental illness. But there is still hope. There is an absolutely certain hope. Like Jairus, the ruler of the synagogue, give up everything and ask the Lord Jesus. Pray, ask again, and ask again until the Lord's answer falls. Even if your condition worsens during your supplication, do not mind and pray persistently. When the time is right, He will answer you by putting on an abundant bonus.
Considering the devotion and wealth they put in to send their children to a good school, and even more so, considering that it is the way to save the lives of children, who are more precious than the world, there is nothing that we cannot ask for.
4. The Death of Jairus' Daughter and Jesus
On the way to the house where the dead daughter of Jairus, the ruler of the synagogue, was lying, people came from Jairus's house and brought sad news. “Your daughter is dead. Why do you trouble the teacher more?” The question is, what Jesus can do about a dead person. It's all over now. This cannot but be a common conclusion for everyone in the world.
But death is not the end for the Lord Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life. The Lord instilled courage and hope in Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, saying, “Do not be afraid, just believe.” Only the Lord Jesus can give you the words you need when you need it.
Our Lord said, “Do not be afraid, only believe.” It's over, but don't be afraid and keep believing. Man's end point is God's starting point, and man's despair is God's opportunity of hope.
5. Jesus Raising a Dead Girl
Among the great crowd, Jesus took only Peter, James, and John his brother into the house of the ruler of the synagogue. And he made a startling declaration to family and friends, to the flute players and the weepers. “This child is not dead, but sleeping.” The dignified declaration he made as the Lord of eternal life was a mere ridicule to unbelievers. The Lord sent out all the ridiculing unbelievers.
To men it is dead, but to the Lord of eternal life, who is more powerful than death, it is but a sleep. Our Lord Jesus resurrects the dead and enables us to enjoy eternal life in the kingdom of heaven. Do we not already enjoy a partial resurrection life?
Jesus, accompanied by the three disciples and the parents of the dead girl, went into where she was, took her hand, and said, “Talidagum,” that is, “Little girl, I tell you, get up. As soon as the words of the Lord Jesus fell, the dead girl got up and walked. Now it has been revealed that Jesus is the Lord who overcomes the power of death. This marvelous event also hinted at his resurrection. Great sorrow turned into great joy in the family that welcomed the Lord.
However, since the time has not yet come for him to be revealed as the Lord of eternal life, he warned all those who were greatly astonished and surprised not to spread the word. And he told me to feed the 12-year-old girl who survived. The real great people are not those who pretend to be big, but those who have a caring and loving side.
6. Conclusion
Our Lord Jesus is able to solve even the problem of force majeure death. Not only that, but He Himself overcame death and rose again to become our hope of eternal life. Even though all the toil and efforts for the sick daughter were in vain, like Jairus, the synagogue leader who did not lose heart and prayed a lot at Jesus' feet, the prayer warriors who brought our dying children back to life and gained eternal life. I sincerely wish you to be.
