Title: Jesus, the door of our life

Contents

Jesus is the door of our life / John 10:7-12

*** Introduction

Among the things that are rapidly spreading through the internet these days, there is a ‘fortune corner’. In other words, to see the point. A fortune-telling corner is set up on each large portal site, and a teacher with magical powers such as four orders, secrets of soil maintenance, contemplation, and compatibility teaches people to fortune for a lifetime, and tempts people by telling them to match them like tweezers. Unlike the general Philosopher's Hall or the shaman's house, it is said that many Christians access it because it can be visited without anyone knowing.

Although science and civilization are advanced in today's world, many people entrust their lives to luck or luck. When something goes well, it is said that you are lucky. Even while building a house, buying a car, or doing some kind of event, we pray over a pig's head and bow down to pray for good things.

This is because people who leave their lives to luck or luck do not know the way of their lives. It is to rely on luck or luck for fear of the future of one's life. How stupid is this? We Christians have the surest way, and the most powerful and secure guide. The text of this hour teaches us this way and the guide.

In verse 7 he said, “I am the gate of the sheep.” In verse 11, he said, “I am the good shepherd.” It is our Jesus who declares this. We have heard this saying many times and we are well aware of it. And yet, in real life, we worry and fear, and we think in vain because we want to know the future. That is why in Job 4:19, it is called “a life that dwells in a house of dust and is built with dust, and that even a ephemera will crush it to death”, and in Isaiah 51:6 God said, “a life that will die like a gnat.” Because our lives are so empty, we need to find the surest way and rely on the most capable and safe guide.

1. The Lord is the surest way.

Sheep are the largest livestock raised in Israel. So, every Israelite knows about sheep. There are months of no rain in Israel for several months of the year. At this time, grass was scarce, and shepherds had to drive their sheep far away. And at night they made makeshift pens and put the sheep, which were shared pens shared with other shepherds who had come there. The shepherds hired a gatekeeper to watch over the cage all night, and it was at this time that the sheep were often taken by robbers or wild beasts.

Therefore, the shepherds of that time needed strong cages. It was even more reassuring to have a sturdy door attached to it. There is a door in the pen where the sheep are kept. The sheep enter through the gate, and the shepherd enters and exits the sheepfold through that gate. At night, the shepherd lays a bed at the door of the sheepfold.

Jesus said that he was this very door. What would that mean? This means that the saints can only enter and exit through Jesus, and can be safely protected and provided with their needs. Verse 9 says that if you enter through the door called Jesus, you will be saved. Not only that, but he said that he would find pasture as he enters the gate and goes out.

What is the shape? Forage is the food the shepherd provides to the sheep. In other words, if a believer enters through Jesus, they are saved. And in all things, your needs are provided as you enter and exit through Jesus. This means that all the keys to spiritual problems and physical problems can be provided only through Jesus.

A prosperous life is not guaranteed just by looking at the four or four signs, contemplation, matching compatibility, and fortune-telling. Moreover, if the saints do not enter us through Jesus and linger outside of us, then nothing is guaranteed or given. That is why John 15:7 says, “But if you live in me and obey my words voluntarily, ask whatever you want. It will be done as it is.”

When we enter into Jesus, we conform ourselves to the will of God. And to have the word of Jesus in us is to obey and follow the word of the Lord. This is what goes in through Jesus and comes out. When we do everything we do according to God's will and obey and follow God's word, safety and prosperity are guaranteed. What could be more certain than this?

2. The Lord is the safest guide.

In verses 11 and 12, the Lord said, “I am the good shepherd The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep, but the laborer is neither the shepherd nor the sheep his own; but when he sees a wolf coming, he leaves the sheep and runs away, and the wolves plunder and stray.

Earlier I was talking about the shepherds of Israel, and they said that there was a gatekeeper who was hired to keep the sheepfolds at night. They are said to run away in serious danger because the sheep they guard are not theirs. That is why most shepherds say that they lay themselves right inside the door of the sheepfold and watch the sheep all night.

The Lord told this very story and said, “I lay down my life for the sheep.” Because the sheep is the Lord's own. That is why the sheep know their master's harvest and understand the voice. In fact, it is said that sheep not only know their master, but also the name they have given them. It is said that if someone else wants to lead, they will never follow it.

That's right. If the saints truly believe and follow the Lord, they will hear, understand, and obey the Lord's words. It is because the sheep of the Lord are not the ones who hear the word of the Lord and do not follow it. If we truly depend on and follow Him, He will lead us safely into His kingdom. The Lord gave even life for us, will you not lead us to His kingdom?

There was an article in the magazine USA Today that people today sleep much shorter than they did about 20 years ago, and that it will be even less in the future. That means people are going to be busy.

Twenty years ago, when people heard something, they asked, “Is that really true?”, but modern people say, “What good is that to me?” Modern people just don't want to move unless it's in their own interests.

Really, how good is the time now. A day goes by or a week goes by so quickly. Our lives will pass by so quickly. Shouldn't we then know which of the many things is really important?

It is clear that we believe in Jesus to meet our needs. The Lord who called us knows this. In Matthew 6:32, the Lord said, “Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.” That's why the Lord said to us, 'Seek not your own interests, but first the kingdom of God and the will of God.'

Let's not be afraid to look at the world's circumstances and trust in the Lord. I pray that you will always win by trusting and relying on the Lord who is the surest way, the most powerful and safe guide.
